18 Day Composting - Berkeley Method

The Berkeley Method is a process I discovered last year and it worked just as it was supposed to. With this process, you can produce compost within 2-3 weeks! I stacked old tires in my green house and filled them with this compost in order to give it more heat in the winter. It could see "steam" coming from the piles as I turned them within about 4 days. The compost in the tires was a little difficult to turn properly. Maybe a composting barrel would be better for next time. Here is another good link regarding the Berkeley Method from UC Davis.
