172 g wet = what dry??

Hey all.. I just chopped down my very first plant and it was 172 grams wet. I just hung it all up and was wondering what can I expect it to weigh dry?

you will get about a 1/4 of that 3/4 is wet weight.

you weighed the entire plant or did you cut of the buds then weigh them?

I had cut all the branches off one at a time and trimmed, then shorted the stems a bit. So, it's mostly buds but with some stems...

according to my handy dandy blackberry phones calculator, you should end up somewhere around 42.75 grams dry weight, or 1.52... ounces of dry herb..

somewhere around 50 grams sounds about right,if or take a few grams ofcoarse

40-50 grams, probally closer to 40 imo.

Ended up with 28g after re-trimming and cutting out stems... Was hoping for more but I guess it'll work.

Not bad, always next harvest to look forward to.

You generally loose about 70% of the weight once dryed.

was gonna say 25-30....15-20% wet weight. sucks but it's better to know

Yeah, that's a general fact, but there is many factors to consider, Fluffy buds will weight only 20-30% once WELL DRYED while denser nugs might weight more.

She was approx 2.5-3ft. tall and branchy as hell.

Good point there... This plant was flowered mostly under a 250hps up until the last 2 weeks or so I put her under the 400hps. Was fluffy bud for sure...
