16"x16" cabinet scrog

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Hello this is my first post on RIU. I have had the pleasure of lurking around for several months now and I wanted to share my first cabinet scrog. First off the cabinet is 16"x16"x66" with adjustable shelves. I reused several computer fans and a fan controller for air movement and venting. The lighting has changed several times so far. Starting with a 12"x12" 30w Chinese led, added a 23w for a while then made the big move to a vero 29 3500k pushing 75w dimmed about 50%. On a recycled cpu heatsink with fan. The plant is a Blue Dream clone.

I assume the tight dimensions mean stealth is important, so how are you dealing with the smell?

My setup is similar by volume (wider and shorter) and have to run a filter/fan a from couple weeks into veg onward.. I could never go through bloom without a filter.

Hi Jim, I put together a birdseed holder and filled it with two small fish tank filters (active carbon). This has worked alright. But if I had it to do all over again I would run the exhaust through the top into a tote filled with carbon.

Cool, I hadn't heard of that. I ended up building "fan and filter cab" that's attached to the grow cab. My 4" inline fan is noisy fan so that allowed me to insulate it really well. Some noise escapes, but you'd really have to be listening for it. I created a diagram for another thread so I'll attach it. It's not to scale but you can get the idea.

I have an 18 x 24 cabinet going with a phresh filter in the cabinet, right above the light with a bathroom fan mounted above it. It works OK, doesn't move a whole lot of air but it's quiet and extremely effective. Currently setting up a 16x16x48 and I'm undecided on the exhaust. The filter and fan sacrifice growing height but I don't really seem to have trouble keeping my plants short and bushy. What's the best setup for the 16x16 space without dropping the ceiling height too much?
