Just placed my order for 24 cxb3590cb, tears came to my eyes at the price! It will be worth it in the end though.
Nice!! post pictures of your build!

We should form a cxb club to make people jealous!! lol

I'm expecting the ideal holders for my cxb2530 3000k u2 bins to arrive today, and then I can finally get the show on the road... (well, maybe not a show, but just pictures of lights! lol)

I'm jealous lol. I have to wait to get my sample CXB3590 with my last order of CXA's being shipped to me and in 1-2 months they will be available at Kingbrite.

I will be posting the build when i get everything together, I'm expect I'll have all the parts by mid-end April.

Lol, count me in!

Put up pics of your build too! I doubt I'll use holders, it would be too much hassle and take too much time to drill and tap 48 holes so kapton tape it is for me. I might get the holders in the future if i can lay hands on a pillar drill though.

I bought them from digikey, overall price with VAT came in at just under £1250. I'll have a look around here in the UK for a drill press, i know a few people who might own one, I'll ask around instead of buying one.

It works out to nearly the same, digikey pays for import tax and free shipping as well as being a reputable seller too. They also have them for sale at $59.50
I don't buy from them because they charge sales tax and they are not in my state. My state sales tax is 9% and I get higher bins from Kingbrite and will probably get my CXB's in 3500k's for the same price. £1250 gbp is $1929.94 usd which makes them $80.41 usd. I'll be getting them for $60 usd 32= $1920 no tax plus $50 shipping $1970 usd which = £1275.95 gbp delivered for 32 not 24, I get 8 more for almost the same price.

I changed the currency on their website, i didn't do the conversion myself... So yeh i'm paying $80.41 when converted but that's including VAT, import tax and free delivery and like i said, from a reputable seller who i know will give me a refund if i want it without having to chase them around. We have to pay import tax from china here in the UK, not sure if you do over in the states. I also expect to pay slightly more as i'm in the UK, everything is more expensive here :?. I prefer the 3000k to the 3500k too, i don't need more blue as i'll be doing SOG straight from cuttings

-----> 500mA cxa3070 could easily be passively cooled it's so low power.

I second that notion. I'm running V29s @.7A on radial heatsinks. They're only 12 ounces each and have been doing a great job. I just recently tested a few sinks from heatsinkusa @ 1.05A and will be running a test on a radial tonight at the same current to see how they stack up. They're a lot lighter than the others I've tested so I have no expectation the temps will be great at 30 watts, but it should be interesting none the less. If I had a spare .7A driver I would test at that current as well.... hmm, thinking about stealing one from my lamp.

At .5A or less I think the radials would perform like a champ. The two lamps I've built using them are an inch thick and have no moving parts, so there are several reasons to consider them. If you're curious about them do an ebay search for "50 watt LED aluminum heatsink". There are a variety of sellers, probably all out of China but you can make an offer. A member here has gotten them for as low as $8. Pound for pound they're still on the expensive side, but the free shipping helps.

Also should warn you it's likely the radials will need to be sanded.
