15w not enough?

I have 2 15 watt cfl's and a tiny tiny sad poor stunted plant.. is this going to be enough? Its only got one on it for now, should I have it close to the plant? Its better than what it DID have, which was a regular 70 watt bulb :S (not my doing)

Let me know what you think! Thanks!:blsmoke:

Change those 15's to something higher, at least 23. For veg you want "blue-white" or cool white . . . for flowering you'd benefit by changing those to "warm white".
Keep them as close as possible w/o burning your vegetation, like an inch or two, max.

You should aimfor something closer to 25w/sq ft. for veg, and then try to bring that closer to 50w/sq ft. for flower.

Two 26w cool/daylight on a Y splitter and put baby right in the middle of lights..about 3/4"away... they work fine..... more is always better.... Luck...

Don't pay attention to remarks...

although he was a jackass for his answer, it also seems as if you didn't do any reading or researching at all. If you had, you would have known the answer, as that question is answered probably 5 out of every 10 threads started, and it is not only stickied, but also in the grow faq.

i guess the point of my post is, don't ask questions without at the very least doing a cursory search of the site. Seeing the same question asked multiple times CAN get very irritating. However, 2 15 watt CFLs for a single small seedling at 2 inches away, SHOULD be enough to sustain it for now. I have read posts on this site that have successfully grown seedlings with 30 watts per plant. If it is really in such a bad state, maybe it's the soil, nutrients, watering schedule that you are somehow messing up. However, it seems as if majority of people with successful grows on this site have used around 80 watts per plant. The most successful using around 100 watt per plant.

Good luck, and happy smoking.
