well it's like 20-30 watts per cfl...they put out like 1700 lumens. 150w hps puts out 16000, 9 cfls (225ish watts...) so really....

like i already said there are more lumens to watt with the HIDs which is why we use them to flower (myself included) but most of the light from a hps is in the red/orange spectrum and we want the blue/indigo spectrum there is some with your HID but a lot larger % of the watts are produceing the correct wavelengh with BLUE you can tell looking at a light that is on is it blue or orange looking? anyway fuck this man enjoy the rest of your day

I was on about this plant, (sog grow with HPS) by the look of those stems it has been 'Regenerated' ie, it has done more than one grow.
You callin this stretched?
Not everyone is aware that you can re-use the same plant over and again.

that's a scrog, screen of green...sog is sea of green. but no, that plant is actually from a clone...it hasn't reached maturity yet...(the plant is from a grow journal)...

Im going to have to agree with cheefin and upin on that battle. cfls do the job, but yaeh ive also been following primes thread and im very impressed with what hps can do, i mean look at that stock!!! And its so bushy.
I think i will had 4 blue cfls in each corner to see what happens. Maby the blue will help a tad bit.
