I am having heat problems with my 250WHPS becasue my ambient temps are so high (80-85F). So ive decided to scale everything down and use a small cab. 30"Hx29"Wx16"D

What do you guys think would be best for maintaining a reasonable temp? A 150W HPS (or smaller) or some cfls. I don't mind using a cool tube if i have to. I also plan on using some CO2 so i think temps of up to 85F are ok.

Why don't you just keep the 250 watt in a cooltube. Just have seperate ducting for just you're light. That should help control temps.

That is kinda small for 250W. But you know a lot of people do have success with CFLs, so maybe until you get some good fans you could try the CFL route. But like Purple said, once you dial in the specifics with your fans and exhaust I'm sure you would be able to make that 250 work. Don't wanna waste your money, ya know?

I have a box about that size and I am here to tell you that CFL's are gonna be a challenge enough to keep temps under control.
