can the hps go closer to the plants?
it gets a little to hot if it is closer, its not cooltubed nor do i have any fans in it... its 14" from the plants and temp at the bottom is around 70, mid is 75-80 and then any higher than that it starts getting to hot on the plants... as soon as i can get a fan it should be cooled down, however we have a metal shelf that we are using to raise the lights. we have a 6" board under it raising the shelf about 6" off of the supports, im sure if i had a 2x4 i could get the hps between 2-4" closer but thats the most i can do with the setup.

strain right now is bag seed. I have some purchased seeds that we want to wait to use... we have some frankenstein from a hermied plant, and we have some access to other seeds from an older grow, but i dont remember what strain it is...
as for a journal, i dont know it is with my roomie and I, i might do a journal, but i dont want all kinds of pics online unless i have questions about it.

yea mate grab a fan and get that thing as close as possible. the more air circulating the better for the heat and the movement of air around the leaves.

i want some femme seeds im just way too scared to order them. i wish i could just find a grow buddy who lives near and get fem clones. i think if my plant is a girl im going to clip a sample and try brow it. but i know its not recommended to clone from a flowering plant. so................idk

you have to unscrew the socket from the ballast, cut the black and white wires...

get a two prong extension cord, strip the ends. Connect the black and white wires to the extension cord. Make sure you keep black with black and white with white. Connect the wires with a connecter, and BAM!! there ya have it..you also need to get a 3 prong extension cord to hook up the power supply. Just a lil cutting a splicing is all you need to do.
hey man i got some lamp wire thats 18 gauge and 6 amps is that gonna work?? just strip it and attach it, i dont have to ground it?

inside the HPS ballast there are three wires for the plug to the ballast, there is no ground from the bulb to the ballast however.

Cool, but a bit too expensive compared to the radio shack scope for $10. Plus the scope you listed is only 30x, which is alright but not as great as 100x.

Na radioshacks is 60-100x, just bought one. But I read that wrong, it was confusing, "Kids will spend hours on amazing scientific discoveries as they view objects magnified up to 200 times their regular size on any TV screen. Hand-held microscope plugs into the A/V jack of a standard TV, or functions as a traditional 30x optical microscope using the included tabletop stand. Uses six AAA batteries (not included)."

... maybe cuz the eye hole you look into is 30x.. but they used the average sized TV and that makes it 200x?? lol Im confused too.

Not sure, but for $10 I like the RS scope, it takes a bit to get used to it, getting it to focus and keeping your hand steady, but it was worth it. I looked at my trichs today and they are clear with some starting to get cloudy!

Why would you ask if I am a female?

If its because I said "my boy" that's just slang for my homie, my buddy, my friend.

I havea girlfriend too that I mention in my journal....

I am a male... penis and all.
