150w grow suggestions please

I currently have 3 seeds germinating. 1 connie chung. 1 pineapple express and 1 bean i bred myself (Master kush). i only plan on keeping two.

last time (my 1st time with the 150w hps..im use to a much bigger grow) i grew 1 plant under the 150w and only got an oz in a half at best. this time im considering growing 2 under the 150 in hopes of raising my yield. is 2 plants in 1 gal pots under the 150w better than say 1 plant in a 2 or 3 gallon pot under a 150w?

if i do 2 how long should i veg for?

basically i want to maximize my yield since this 150w grow is gonna be all my smoke. im use to having 2 600w so it was never a problem. i need 3-4oz and id like to think 114g (4oz) shouldnt be too difficult. i just need to know what combo of plants/potsize/veg time would be ideal for maximizing yield.

any/all help appreciated on this.

bro go with some 3 - 5 gallon and veg for around 2 months with LST and topping and you should get a way better yield check out what im doing in my sig on the ogre 99, im using a 150w and an led in 2 4 gal tubs

You wont get much more with 2 plant under the 150W. I would try to add as much T5 or CFL lighting as you can. Watts= weight.

You should be able to increase your yield a bit by extending your veg and adding another plant or two as has already been suggested. 3 sounds like a good number. In these little grows its really more about a full canopy than the number of plants you use to get that canopy. You should set your expectations at about .5-.7 grams per watt.

why? just wondering... is the difference in lumen efficiency that great between 600s and 150s? i know there is SOME loss of lumens per watt but i have gotten 1g per watt with 600s before.

really if i could get a qp per 150w that would be awesome but now it doesnt sound likely unless i veg 2 months (which kinda ruins the point of trying to get max yield as ill have less harvests per yr).

hmmmm. idk. 150w lights r not my bread n butter.

I did 2 months of veg. In a 5 gal pot Scrogged came out with about 2 1/2 oz'z Use 2 3 gallon buckets you will be alright. When i used my 5 gal the roots werent even bound to the pot. So 3 should be good enough. The average yield of a plant under a 150 watt should be around 2 oz's. My two cents If you really wanna get some weight do a SoG. Put about 6 plants under that 150

.5-.7 is an average yield. If you got to 1 g/w with 600s then just do whatever you did on a 1/4 scale. It's the same thing.
lol duh! y didnt i think of that! no sarcasm intended. makes sense.

the only part im confused about is the pot size & the veg time now. does that stay unchanged or are their adjustments 2 be made. i really dont want to veg super long. ive done it only a FEW times even with 600s and i always regretted it in the end (took too long and made the grow very challenging due to size). once i had a plant grow SOOOO big that during flowering i couldnt fit it thru the doorway to go water it!

so im looking to avoid that.

i say yield is important but overall consistent smoke is important...so maybe its not yield it want...its a good steady consistency.

i know many r gonna say it wont work (either do i but im gonna give it a "College try")

i need these 150w grows to be enough for me & my gf. It would be easy if it was all mine but sadly its not for only 150w. Im restricted to 150w because i cant grow at the place i grow (if that makes sense) so im going under the radar by using a 150w. granted a 250w isnt much more wattage im paranoid because the bill monthly (b4 growing) was EXTREMELY consistent. im treading as lightly as possible as im already on their radar simply because they are aware i know how to grow.

b4 i get banned and attacked id like to make it known that i DO have legit mmj papers obtained for legit reasons and so does the gf and this is after all strictly personal (lol @ 150 it has to be)

anyway sorry 4 the ramble but im in between a rock and a hard place and 2oz every 3 months isnt gonna cut it. im as conservative as possible now. i even trim the plant carefully and cut the sugar leaf in small pieces and mix it with the shake just to stretch my stash. i have an ice bong...take snaps...so on the smoking front im doing my part...going from a 600 to a 150 is bad.

How big is the space?
my space is fairly limited these days. its a closet. the exact dimensions im not sure (i can measure it though). the space inside the closet im using the 150w hps is 2x2 with those 3 fold science fair project type boards covered with mylar surrounding that small 2x2 space. the closet is probably big enough that i could fit another 150w taking up a 2x2 footprint. (not saying id get a 2nd 150w just givin u an idea of how much extra room there is)

the closet is one of those "long" closets. id say the closet is 6 ft wide and only maybe 2 to 2 1/2 ft deep. this is just an estimate until i actually measure but my guess is pretty accurate.

also. besides flying under the electricity radar im also trying to not make it too hot in the closet. thankfully though its gonna be cooling off half way through this next grow as it will be fall/winter by the time its completed. around here in the summer we routinely hit 90+ all the time.

right now the 150w has minimal heat issues. thus far i havent had to use more than 1 fan blowing on the bulb/main cola area all summer and havent had much issues at all. (wen i ran 600s i needed a window a/c unit to keep heat in check and i was using that in a 8x10 room not a closet)

150W should be fine for 4 sq ft. Veg 3 or 4 plants for a few weeks to get a canopy and go for it.

If you do 12/12 from seed you can get (6) six one gallon pots in there. Should yield you between 3-4 oz within 80 days and if you have six new beans sprouted at harvest time you can do it all over again.

I agree some CFL's around the perimeter will help.

oh ok. sounds good guys. thanks for the help. idk y i made this so complicated!

If i can get all 3 to pop this time ill throw them all in 1 gal pots and form a "circle" (triangle) under the light and see how it goes. last time i started with cfls and only used the 150w in the last month of flowering...needless to say i only harvested somewhere over an oz so hopefully this will be a big improvement.

thanks a lot once again.
