150 hps in 2x2 tent with 4 3gal smartpots

What's up riu? I got some good things going on in a small tent. A good friend of mine had Ron Burgundy a few years ago and I thought he lost it but he told me he has some seeds that he believes got polinated by purple moroc so he gave them to me and named them Purple moRon. 2 beans popped and both are females. 2 different phenos, pm1 is very purple with a grape juice smell to it, while pm2 is light purple but frosty as hell with a more lemony/piney/musky smell. The other 2 are bubblegum from 00 seeds and the doctor from greenhouse. Check em out, let me know what yall think.

Those are some beauties. Props on the size of them with only a 150 hps. Good Job brother.

Thanks man. I do use cfl's for side lighting as well which helps fatten em up a bit. If you notice there is a white spot on the tip of the leaf on the second pm2 pic, that's where it touched the cfl. So far that has been my biggest problem, keeping them from touching the cfl's

That's an easy problem to fix and being a million other worst problems you could have, then I would say your cruisin brother

Oh yea! This is not something to let go. Both phenos are great! So far I'm leaning towards pm2 because of how frosty it is but there is no way I'd kick pm1 outta bed lol

I've been toying with the idea of using multiple 150's instead of a single big bulb (in a larger grow) - long story! Anyway, your results seem to make that a good idea! Congradulations!

Wow 150 hps?? I had a 150 and i do remember i grew some killer bud i whent to a 400w havent made a comparison but that 150 just made them look good and harder nugs.. could it b?

Thanks, I keep em wall to wall in my little tent. It does get packed but I have small desk fans everywhere. I top them when they're young then I supercrop then I lst. I keep the canopy as even as I can.

Thanks man, yea it's a long story how I ended up with a 150. It's actually a 15 year old light from gas pipe. I come from 1k lights to this and I feel like it's harder under this 150 than when I had 3000 watts.
I do like the idea of multiple points of light but I think multiple 250's would be better though.

The one thing I can tell you is that a 150 hps does NOT cover a 2x2. I tried and unless you're gonna scrog a single plant then you will need to add some lights like cfl's of maybe leds. I found that I have to put lights in the corners or those buds will be considerably smaller.

I would love to see a group shot in your tent. That 150w looks like it does pretty well but I guarentee you a LED that is 150w actual will outperform that light and run cooler. You use soil?

Yea I'm with you on the led lights, I've actually been looking into them a lot. Sneakyfoot keeps trying to talk me out of it. Eventually it's gonna happen but for now I'm working with what I got. I cant get a shot of the tent til later tonight but I do have this one from a week or 2 ago
And yeah I use roots organic soil.

Thanks bro! I'm actually scroggin' a single plant right now. I upgraded from cfl in the middle of flower this round. Want to get one full grow with the 150w in, scroggin' 2 plants next round. Will seriously think about upgrading to 250w mh/hps, or the other decision is to just add side-lighting with t5's with the 150w. Appreciate the info. Peace!

Looks beautiful, goodson what Kelvin is your side light again? Mine is 2, 6500k 65w with one 2700K 23w. I believe the blue makes tighter bud and the key to growing with the 150w hps.

6x 26 watts @6500k and 2 24 watt t5s @ 6500k No doubt brother the 6500k cfl helps keep the buds nice and frosty. Sneaky, roll it up must not know you and your skill?! You gotta post some pics
