14 hours of light during flowering...

Can you alter your photoperiod during the last couple of weeks of flowering to 14 hours on? I have searched RIU and can't find the answer. I saw it on a video by THC Seeds where the guy claims that this is "permissible" during the last couple of weeks of flowering. He says he gets "great" yields this way. :peace:

never heard of it but Im really not sure that 2 hours is going to make your yield any better. if it was me i'd stick to 12/12 just because its tried and true and you know it works. wouldnt want to fuck shit up in the final stages.

that will fuck it up,especially constantly changing the timer and it will stress the plant cus they get use to a certain light schedule, like when the lights come on,that has to be the constant, and the lights off can be the variable.

There is an article in FAQ about a changing time rotation...I didn't read it all because it seemed to be a pain to do....changing timers and all...It said it increases yield.....I just wouldn't get too far from the norm without a bit more knowledge.....may pay off.....but ......

do you think i would be able to change the timer on/off by 1 hour say every week or so w/out affecting the plants too much?

14 hours light might send it back into veg because it isnt getting enough dark time telling to be in flowering mode. 14 light 12 dark might work but i have no idea if it would be better in any way and it would be annoying to have dif light times every day to look after. 11/13 or 13/11 might not send it back into veg but i really dont know if it would make any difference in results.

Everyone has done that "Aw god no" thing with their plant..(tear root..I did, leave in cold) & all those drastic, deadly things that can befall your crop.......and yet....
nothing,....plants are fine.....Then you try 1 stupid (maybe not) thing without experience and you have more balls than Spalding.......

why even negotiate an 11/13 time change. JUST STICK WITH YOUR TIMINGS. theres really no reason to change it except that "you just feel like it". Imo, thats not a good reason and could potentially mess up your crop over time. but do what you will.

I've been under the impression that is 12 hours of dark that matter the most.

As earlier stated, a 14/12 could work, but not sure how the timers would work with that. (I use a single controler for everything)

Also stated earlier was the non-normal lighting sched in the FAQ I read it a while back and figured, nah. By the time you are into flowering (and you are late flowering) why risk it?

You'd be better off with more light and/or Co2 for a little boost

the benefit would be as stated, a higher yield. a guy named tim in thc seeds video says he gets bigger yields this way, and depending on the strain, it is permissible to go up to 14 hrs. on. i think i agree with you and will experiment later.

need a 7 day timer, saw something about it on another thread where they were trying to do some weird light schedule like that, but i think they were trying like 20/12

Yeah, but every week you'd have to re-adjust.

My whole set up is all computer controller (PLC) so just a little software tweak and and I can do whatever I want down to .01 second timing. Along with inputs for temp, humidity, co2 levels, etc. Now just gotta get past a few more gorws to have it really dialed in.
