135W LED Closet Grow - 2 X DP Think Different Auto, 2 X Dinafem Moby Dick Auto

Panda, your photos look very professional. Nice touch. My girls range from 28cm, 33cm, 41cm and 54cm. They all look different, like not the same plant. First grows are nerve racking!

Yea my phone somehow does do a pretty good job of taking the photos and i love getting the girls out, doing a bit of light pruning and having a look at how they are doing.
Wow those are some varied figures, I guess you just managed to get the spectrum of phenos for your strain
About your nutes.. yea I would have thought that nitrogen was a little low and the phosphorus a little high.. more like flower nute levels? My veg nutes were 4 1 4 and they did a great job. In terms of lighting I originally only bought 2700K CFLs as the majority of my autos life was gonna be spent in flowering.
However I did just order 2 6400Ks though for the new seedling cabinet I constructed last night as well as some Blue Treacle seeds and a couple more MD seeds. Will get some photos up of the new construction when everything arrives.

You have been very busy. I think I have done things backwards. Using the 6400k cfls with the 200 watt led full spectrum during veg stage. Ordered some 2700k cfls yesterday. You sure can just sit back and throw money at these projects! How high above the canopy of the plants do you keep your cfls in he different stages?

Managed to remember my password in a haze, so I'm officially back in business. Figured my first post back should be here giving all the necessary and appropriate kudos for the awesome grow you're doing. Very exciting time broheim.

Klunk! great to see your back online brotha.. thanks for the kudos, sure you know the respect is mutual.. it is a very exciting time! Never forget though, winter is coming.
growingoldgal, its true, it is easy to throw quite a lot of cash at these grows.. gotta spend money to make money though; or perhaps rather i just cant help myself when i come to spending on my ladies :bigjoint:
Heres a photo showing how i far i keep my lights above the canopy:
photo 15.jpg
the LED is 40cm above the shorter plants. just checking, you know want the red spectrum (2700k) for the flowering.. the cfls are obviously off to take the photo ;-)

Quick question. How much lighting do you use for the seedling phase. How much lighting for the vegetative phase.

Hi MLS, I started the grow with just my 135W LED light, after the first week I then added my two 2700k 125W CLFs. The next grow I do will be using two 125W 6400k CFLs for the first two weeks then I'll transfer them to my larger grow closet with the LED light and the 2700k CFLs.

It looks lovely so far Panda! Gonna have to follow this thread. I'm looking at getting a blackstar 135w. Do you like yours so far?

Day 63

GandBGrowers: Im loving my LED, produces almost no heat and the plants seem to love it. Iv only really used it in conjunction with 2 125W 2700K CFLs (which put out a lot more heat) though so cant say how effective it would be by itself...

So day 63, one week left. Iv got a ridiculous amount on at the mo so couldn't do a full photo op but for those who are interested heres my latest contribution to the internet's bud porn:

photo 1.jpgphoto 2.jpgphoto 3.jpgphoto 4.jpgphoto 5.jpgphoto 6.jpg

Shots are of top colas of three of the plants. MD's are fairly ridiculous, stupid levels of massive dense budding and crystallisation. TD's are also great though not as fat; that said they do have a sweeter smell and look divine.
Wish i could write a bit more about them but time presses.. More photos and description in a week.

Day 69: HARVEST!

growingoldgal & Iceauron: thanks guys.. I try to keep them happy :eyesmoke:

So after some close inspection of the trichromes I decided harvest day was upon me.
First is the big Moby, second is the small MD, third is shorter Think Different and second last is the tall TD and last is all together.

photo 1.jpgphoto 2.jpgphoto 3.jpgphoto 4.jpgphoto 5.jpg

Here are the nicest top colas from each strain (left MD, right TD):

photo 6.jpgphoto 7.jpg

All in all im absolutely delighted with the yield, especially from the TDs which caught up a lot over the last couple weeks. The aroma coming off all of them is incredible, the Mobys smell incredibly fresh and sweet while the TDs are cleaner and more gentle. I really cant wait to get a dry weight and smoke a bowl of each but for now they'll be hanging in the drying cupboard...

photo 8.jpg

I'll be sure to update when they are nicely dried and iv had a smoke of each.

In the mean time iv started my next grow :bigjoint:

The plan was to do 2 MDs and 2 new Blue Treacles. Unfortunately I'v had a little trouble with the Blue Treacle seeds, neither of the 2 I tried to germ opened at first. After a little nurturing, some extra water and an extra 5 days in darkness the first has cracked but im still one down. Got another one in germing now but its slighly frustrating as one will be a week behind the others... still i'll make do im sure. Pictures coming soon!

Nice yield panda! Be sure to come back here once they are dried with a total weight and smoke report. Excited to see how much you yielded. It looks like a lot! Good job!

So I thought I'd put up a little update with the dry, cured weights of each strain and a smoke report..
The final total weight was 108.9g; the two Mobys yielded 58.8g and the two Think Differents yielded 50.1g! :weed:

I'm extremely happy with the total dry yield and particularly the final TD yield which was pleasantly surprising and remarkably close to the Moby yield. All in all this little LED experiment has gone really well although I did end up augmenting my lighting with the CFLs. Here are some photos of the crop:

photo 1.jpg
Both strains together
photo 2.jpg photo 3.jpg
The Moby yield and a nugget of Moby bud
photo 4.jpg photo 5.jpg
The TD yield and a TD bud

So on to the smoke report.. Firstly, let me say that both strains are delightfully strong and resinous... The Moby smells absolutely delicious, really fresh - almost herby or piney with the smallest hit of floral. The smoke is euphoric and powerful, a single bowl had me fairly stoned for a few hours - though I have really been enjoying smoking more than one every couple hours since my first test session reaching an incredibly plateau. The high is mostly cerebral and can be either energising or relaxing dependant on your mood, basically exactly what I hoped for. All in all its a great little auto sativa.
The TD buds also smell great, less fresh smelling than the Moby; instead more of a clean, peppery ganja smell. It, like the Moby, is fairly strong inducing slightly more of a body high than the Moby with a gentle soporific effect if smoked when a bit tired. In general a really relaxing strain, really good to chill out with. The taste is perhaps a tiny bit strong for my liking though you definitely could not call it harsh. A good auto hybrid strain to be sure..

Ill be putting up some photos of the new plants soon as well, though I may start a new journal for them as there have been some developments in terms of set up.. I'll be sure to put a link in my next post if I do.
Peace

Can't believe nobody has commented on how tremendous that harvest looks. Definitely the work of a genuine Stone-man! How goes the next crop?
