12/12 Question

Hey Everyone,

With the time change, and a short power outage a few weeks ago, my lights are turning on about 1 hr 45 minutes later than what I'd like.

I think I have two choices for getting my time back on track & I'd like your opinions...

1. Change the light cycle in one 1:45 chunk, shortening the dark period for a day.
2. Move my timer back 15 minutes every night for 7 days.

Will I stress my plants by doing this? I don't want to cause any problems.

Thanks for the help!

I would change it over two days. 1 hour, then 45 minutes, but you don't shorten the dark cycle, shorten the light cycle. Just make sure you turn the lights out when you want them out and turn them on 12 hours later. Don't let the dark cycle get shortened.

for a one time reset just go at the time you want to start and turn it all on. that way it's when you want it and stress will be little to none.

It will add about 1-2 days of flower time depending on where you are at.

the later into flower a one time reset has less than early. but neater are that noticable anyway.

You gotta leave the dark period alone...the light period can be shortened, but the dark period should be left alone. If you do it this way you won't add any flowering time and the plant won't know the difference.

Ya i would just change it all at once during the day cycle because like in nature there are going to be cloudy days where plants dont get light and it dose not affect the grow so shortening the day cycle one day would be like a cloudy day for your plant.

I would change it like laserbrn stated in a two day period. I have no scientific data to back this up but just my personal feeling. I had something almost exactly the same and I did 30 mins the first day and 1 hr the second. I think either way is fine

you can do a one time resset if they get 10 hours.

You can do whatever you want. You could change it by 6 hours, as long as you did it by shortening 1 day cycle and have the dark cycle be 12 hours.

If you want the lights to go out at 6:00pm, turn them off at 6:00pm and turn them back on at 6:00am. Doesn't matter if that means giving them a short or long day cycle.

Thanks everyone! I'll get up early to shut the light off at 7:00am, and it sounds like all will be good.

I'm 4 weeks into flowering & they're looking too pretty to mess something up now!
