12/12 NL x Shiva

I know this subject always ends with a debate but i was wondering if NL x Shiva would be a reasonable strain to go 12/12 from seed with and get around an oz per plant.

I have talked with people and have heard good results from some and terrible results from others, basically the strain played the most important role on whether it would be a successful 12/12 from seed grow. i have heard results with a yield anywhere from 1-3oz or a yield of 5grams.

I can't find much on this strain (NL x Shiva), and i only found one journal, which was dropped in between the grow with about 1 or 2 updates, and was very poorly detailed.

So i was wondering if anyone had any information on this strain, and if you can let me know if it would be a good candidate for a 12/12 from seed.

Any personal experiences with this strain would also be very much appreciated.

Thanks

that strain is called Shiva Skunk (NL #5 x Skunk #1), I am growing it right now. It doesn't seem to love SOG too well, and is maturing slower than I expected. I got the pair of clones from the club, mendo purps just rocketed past it in terms of resin production, vigour, and overall health. neways, 12/12 from seed would probably go better with a larger potential strain, imo

Northern Lights bred with Shiva. idk which NL though.

Their Nirvana, from attitude seed bank.

no one ever grew this?

I guess it's a pretty out of the ordinary strain.

any input on the 12/12 from seed? if anyone has experience with nl or shiva that may be helpful too, thanks

Nirvana genetics aren't the best. But yea that cross could pull an ounce per plant from seed 12/12 if you know what you're doing, have your setup down etc. . Trouble with Nirvana seeds is the phenotypes tend to vary quite a bit :s

If you're new to growing, expect less, but practice with this strain!!! Then maybe invest some extra cash in a strain like Northern Lights #5 x Haze (Sensi Seeds - I think?) ... That you could do 12/12 from seed and expect a decent yield I believe.

P.S - If you get a pheno in your NL x Shiva that leans more toward NL you will likely have heavier set plants but a shorter flowering period <- shorter flowering could be a bad thing doing 12/12 from seed, but not entirely sure to be honest. Although both NL and Shiva are both about 8 week strains and fairly heavy set, you can probably run the right phenos for around 10 weeks to get that extra weight in there. But depends what you're looking for, short flowering with a little less weight or slightly longer wait with a bit of extra weight and potency...

Anyway, that's just my rambling thoughts, might help a little, but I'm not really all the with it right now haha

It's a damn fine strain, although it probably doesn't have the 'awards' or coverage to back it up :s

Just a warning, it's not cheap lol ... Although Nirvana do a cheap version called Northern Light x Haze ... It's genetics are along similar lines but the parents are of lesser quality to say the least. You may be lucky and find an awesome pheno in a pack of Nirvana's version though.
I still say practice with what you've got to iron out flaws and learn what you can before investing in a more expensive strain of better genetics - Better genetics often result in plants that are more difficult to grow if you're more in the newbie faze than the experienced grower region.
Nothing wrong with being a newbie of course, we've all been there! We all started there, that's definitely where I learned the most about growing :D ... Research is only bettered by experience.

My suggestion is the call HTG and be nice and ask if your order has been sent that your plants have sprouted and need the light soon. Things don't happen fast there because its a small company short manpower I guess and maybe they take a lot of breaks llol...You know...lol and get side tracked...joke. Slow on shipping unless you call them. Then Customer service is very good....
