WELCOME.!

thanks alot for coming through to my thread. i want to start off by saying this is a project that is 8 months coming now, and due to fairly poor planning at first and also a lay-off which made it impossible to financially accommodate the mistakes i was making, this will be the first time this entire year i will actually be able to take a plant into flowering. lol. ALSO, this is my first grow ever. or more technically my first collective effort at growing.. because during the past 8 mo. i have probably grown about 15 different plants at different times using different methods. only killed about 3. and i even was growing quite a few females. but to make a long story short, i was never able to accommodate for flowering any of the plants ive grown and i was forced to get rid of them at a certain age.

SO ..
8 months later. i feel soooo good where i am today. ive had alot of practice growing bud now. ive used various photo periods, growing mediums, seeding methods, nutrients, temps and environmental conditions, etc. im very comfortable keeping seedlings healthy, transplanting plants, utilizing EC/PPM meters for maximum feeding, PH, etc.

but.. no experiance whatsoever producing fruit and keeping the plant healthy and thriving untill harvest. soooooo.. i decided to come to rollitup and see if any kind and interested stoners out there could help me through it! :bigjoint:

so enough prefacing, heres what i got living in my closet !

im growing in 50/50 coco and perlite.
250w Hortilux Super HPS in 6" cooltube (after day 14)
110w 6400k T-5 florescent light fixture (pre day 14)
canna coco nutes : A+B, rhizo, cannazym, boost, PK 13/14
9oz solo cup day 0-10
2gal felt grow pot till harvest
12/12 from seed

PERPETUAL !!! my closet is cordoned off into 2 areas, one with the T-5's, and one with the HPS. the plan here will be to add 2 plants every 30 days with the maximum capacity of the area w the HPS at 4. and 6-8 seedlings/clones under the T-5's. this allows me to have 3 different age groups each 30 days apart.

goes like this ..

add 6-8 clones/seeds to the blue room .. pick the 2 best looking ones after 14 days
transplant to 2gal felt pots and into the red room they go.
day 30 i add another round of babies under the T-5's and pick the best after 14 days
transplant those into 2 gal pots, stuff em under the HPS with the older 2 ..
day 60 i add another batch of youngn's ..
day 74-80 i will harvest the oldest 2 in the red room and replace them with the 2 best looking youngest plants

THEN FROM THERE JUST RINSE AND REPEAT! lol

now for some pictures. these ladies are 22 days old and have been 12/12 since birth. only 2 days under the HPS tho. 400w was too hot and i had to order a 250w. i just got it 2 days ago. they have been under the T-5's untill now. 10,000 lumens of 6400k aint bad but not the right spectrum this late on 12/12 and i might suffer on some yield for that. day 30 is coming up and i will be starting more seeds soon. let me know what you think so far, sorry for all the text i promise i will bathe this thread in pictures and many updates as i get this perpetual ball rollin! :leaf:

so this is what im growing this month ...
BLUE CHEESE (indica) and BIG GRAPEFRUIT (sativa)
http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds...rm-blue-cheese
http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds...big-grapefruit

and heres what im growing in ..
i got this thing rocking fairly stealth-like if i do say so myself lol. not the best but i want everything in my room with me for security reasons of course, so i had to make it work. not a bad job tho! both areas measure 2x4x5 (WxLxH)
IMAG0302.jpgIMAG0300.jpgIMAG0303.jpgIMAG0304.jpgIMAG0310.jpgIMAG0311.jpgIMAG0315.jpgIMAG0316.jpg

now for the girls ..
im growing 2 of each strain at the moment but i will only keep 2 total. probably one of each strain. the other 2 i will use for clones on day 30 and then discard the plants when the clones are ready to go under the HPS. im actually debating if i want to do that and use clones for next month or start some new genetics ..

either way tho here they are. the grapefruit are the really healthy bushy looking ones. and the blue cheeses have some leaf curl going on and also arnt as bushy because they have been in 9oz solo cups up untill yesterday (day 21) .. i transplanted the grapefruits on day 14 so they're looking good.

Great set-up. They looking a bit unhealthy at the moment...
hey there. yeah thanks i tried to put a little effort into its design. took me a little while.

but as for the plants health, yeah like i said the 2 blue cheese plants have some moderate leaf curl going on and slight cal. deficiency. which is likely a genetic specific reaction to the nutrients, because they have received identical nutrients on the same schedule as the grapefruit plants and they have always remained healthy w strong growth. also, im sure they weren't too happy about being confined to a 9oz solo cup for 21 days : / .. the grapefruit plants were transplanted on time into the 2gal pots.

UPDATE:

DAY 25

not much to show at the moment but i wanted to give an update. ill try for every 3 days or so..

these girls are growing at a rate of 1/2 in. a day. is that pretty normal for 12/12 from seed? im giving about 800 PPM for nutes this week. (canna a+b, rizo, boost) and im gonna raise to 950 PPM starting tomorrow because the grapefruit plants have been eating everything up just fine.. i think they want more. lol

the blue cheese plants have been curling up for the past week or so. ive been giving em 0 PPM PH'd water each day trying to remedy this but so far it seems like they wont uncurl. lol any advice guys? maybe its not nute burn? theres also spots on them which i think is a calcium deficiency. would this deficiency be responsible for the leaf curl as well? idk whats the problem is w these 2 plants cause they have been getting identical food/light as the grapefruit ladies but they seem to not be taking as well to the regimen : /

so heres some pictures:
IMAG0336.jpgIMAG0334.jpgIMAG0333.jpgIMAG0331.jpg

i also tried to get some solo shots of each plant..

blue cheese #1: 6 in.
IMAG0327.jpg

blue cheese #2: 6 1/2 in.
IMAG0324.jpg

grapefruit #1: 7 in.

:bigjoint: thanks for checking me out. i would appreciate any help caring to the leaf curl i got going on .. PEACE!

maybe its just the genetics if you look in my journal ive got spotting and shit going on too, Ive heard bad things about BF lately but i didnt want to believe it since blue cheese is a plant i really wanted to turn out nicely. Also if you want the title in your sig to also be a link go to edit signature and click the "link" app (the one with the little globe) paste your link and then you can title it

Also im subbed to yours as well! always nice to have a bit of friendly competition and someone on the same schedule to compare to and +rep for the nice stealth set up

you know what, i feel the same way about the blue cheese my friend i really wanted her to come out nicely. ive even tried to grow it once before earlier in the year. you say your getting spots as well? im going to look over your journal real good after this post and see what nutrients/temps your doing and all that. believe it or not i was in ANOTHER thread on this site yesterday and a guy was growing BF blue cheese and he ALSO was getting spots. he had already finished them and he had reported his yields were considerably light. there may actually be substance to a genetic issue w the BF blue cheese going out this year.

ive read about the spots being early signs of cal/mg deficiency though, and perhaps the strain is just sensitive to this nutrient (or has a genetic lockout/uptake issue) and needs an above average amount of it. the cal/mg is hard to retain in the coco anyways and probably isnt helping if this is the case. but either way im just glad my grapefruit plants are doing so damn good with everything im giving them. they even want more. they eat 950 PPM on day 26 w no problem. check out the page if you havent already. really great genetics here im soooo excited for this plant !
http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/products/female-big-grapefruit

so with this being said, since i can only keep 2 of the 4 plants i have after the next week or so (even though i i wanted to keep 1 of each strain) i think i will get rid of both the blue cheese plants and only keep the grapefruit. i will take cuttings from the blue cheese as an experiment tho and feed them cal/mg supplements soaked into the coco i use to root them in.

and hey thanks for the tip on my signature too. lol :blsmoke:

AYE THANKS ALOT BUDDY yeah i cant wait to see how everything goes between the two of us. ill be sure to pay close attention to your journal. ill be doing a considerable amount of updates here too. and lots of pictures! lol so make sure you come by.

i wanted to bounce something off of you though if you have a minute. have you ever heard of starting a clone under 12/12? but thats not all. taking a cutting from a plant who is in 12/12 and then also starting that clone under 12/12. this isnt going to work is it? i JUST realized this last night. smh. im fucked. because i cant have my lights on different schedules, they are not independent from each others light. only the outside light from my room. and they never can be either because of positioning and also the ducting that leads from one to the other carries light as well. i dont know what im going to do. lol. i might be forced to starting seeds every month. thats gonna be really expensive : / .. and risky getting strong plants.

UNLESS there is no problem w this method and everything will work out. im just almost certain and really afraid that the clone will die at the same age as the donor and yield absolutely nothing if on this photo-period. perhaps if i take clones really really early i can get around this but im not sure. im really interested to hear any feedback you could provide on this?

I guess it could work but there are quite a few problems with cloning from a 12 12 plant and putting it under 12 12 one is that the plants have a l very short veg cycle and the plants would be fairly small when you take the cuttings unless you take your cuttings in flower but clones taken during flower have different growth charecteristics, the other problem is root growth I see lots of threads about people's clones dying even under 18 hours of light i don't know how they would do under only 12, might slow them down until they get a good root system
going. I don't see why you would be worried about them dying at the same time as the host though? They'll die when you cut them the fuck down haha.
Personally I haven't even really looked into cloning, there are so many strains that I want to grow that I'm going to keep going from seed until maybe I find some genetics that I really really like

yeah man i totally agree w you. im growing straight from seed for a while. theres alot of strains id like to try and grow/smoke too and also its the only way ill be able to keep this grow perpetual at the moment ..

so thanks for all your help buddy. +rep. we'll talk again soon :joint::wink:

UPDATE:

DAY 28

so growth has been absolutely EXPLOSIVE for the 2 grapefruit plants, while the blue cheese's are just looking weak. so ive decided to toss em out : / ..its all good though i can only keep 2 plants for this 1st generation anyways and although i wanted one of each strain, all is well because i couldnt have asked for anything better out of the 2 im keeping. they're doing phenomenal at the moment and im so excited for these upcoming weeks.

ill be planting 2 more seeds in about .. 3 days. here are the strains.. MK ULTRA and S.A.G.E .. both are cannabis cup winners :bigjoint:
http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/products/th-seeds-mk-ultra
http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/products/th-seeds-sage

i didnt choose the genetics myself, they were actually free seeds that came with the blue cheese and grapefruit seeds i bought. but shit, they look dank af and i cant wait to grow them. i really, REALLY hope that both sprouts will come up healthy and strong for me as i only have TWO SINGLE SEEDS : / ..but now that i know i wont be cloning with this set-up, i will for sure be ready next month w at least 4-6 seeds and ill pick the best looking seedlings to keep for growing.

BUT ANYWAYS .. back to the update. lmao.
here's some pics of the girls i kept..

grapefruit #1 & grapefruit #2: both at 9in. and very bushy
day 28 (3).jpgday 28 (4).jpgday 28 (5).jpg

and then also i got solo pics of the 2 blue cheese plants before i threw them out .. may they rest in peace :peace:bongsmilie

blue cheese #1: 8in.
day 28 (9).jpgday 28 (10).jpg

blue cheese #2: 7in.
day 28 (7).jpgday 28 (8).jpg

so thanks again for checking me out and i will be back in a few days with more! all comments, suggestions, advice and critics are welcome. PEACE AND LOVE ! :blsmoke:

WHATS GOING ON BUDDY THANKS FOR SHOWING LOVE :bigjoint:

i have my 6in ventilation duct running to the vent in my room. we have central air. i keep the a/c pushing slightly from 8am-8pm with the light schedule. i have 2 of these 6 in. ducts running and how i have it set up they literally cannot be seen in the room believe it or not. lol. but anyway, one goes to the cool tube and one runs straight outlet to the room. temps are never over 80 and almost always about 74 degrees. o yeah. 8) lol.

UPDATE:

DAY 32/DAY 1

both grapefruit plants are still doing exceptionally well. PPM will increase to 1100-1200 tomorrow from the 1000 PPM the previous 6 days. i have preflowering everywhere on both plants, white hairs are bursting out like crazy. the smell is developing pretty well too. i love it. very fruity.

temperatures have been a constant 75-82. humidity is relatively high in there, how do you guys feel about 60-80% humidity? has anyone here ever had any mold issues w their buds? care to share experience?

also, as you'll see in the pics i decided kept one of the blue cheese plants. i did this for a small amount of added security if something were to go wrong with one of these seeds i have planted. which leads me to my next thing.. lol

ive planted 2 new seeds under the T-5's in 50/50 coco and perlite (9oz solo cup). i did them the same ive been doing the past few months and im confident they will sprout within 48hrs. i gave em about 24 hrs in RO water then straight to the coco. i saturated the medium w 300ppm of low dosage a+b and a nice amount of rhizo. i am confident this is not too strong. i would have liked it closer to 250 but i need to get better measuring cups. lol. today was day 1 as i write this after 8pm, and it will be LIFE tomorrow or the next day i know it. i hope nothing goes wrong w these 2 seeds. which is why i kept the one blue cheese plant just incase something happens to fill the space under the HPS for this next month or so. i figure even a 10-14g yield at minimum from the plant would be better then just having empty space if i were to loose one of these new ones.

so for a few pictures..

grapefruit #1 & grapefruit #2: DAY 32 - 13.5 in.
rate of growth increased from .5in per day (day 10-26) to 1in per day for a few days and is now 1.5 per day (2days)

blue cheese #2: DAY 32 - 9.5 in.
last time i measured her was day 30 at 8in. still very fragile to nutrients i dont understand though PH has been perfect since day 1 and was even on plain RO water for a week. bad genetics on this one. research the barney farm blue cheese grows recently. all problems. lock ups and light yields. its all good. i love her the same. the new growth looks good i just hope she can widen out a little if i need her to come through. she hasn't shown her sex just yet even .. which is why shes a good candidate to take the spot w one of the seeds i just planted this morning. BUT .. if both seeds are strong she will sadly be discarded.. as originally planned. lol

UPDATE:

DAY 40/DAY 9/DAY 0

Hey guys! I haven't posted anything new in about a week now.. and its mainly because i been trying to get some stuff figured out.

So there's been some changes to the plan. instead of harvest/adding 2 plants every 30 days it will be about every 40-45 days. i realized its gonna take longer then i thought to flower under the 250 so i had to make some minor adjustments. but everything is still going wonderfully!

Ive gotten rid of the last blue cheese plant i was holding on to. GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE .
ALSO, my fears came true when one of the two seeds i planted decided to just stop growing and die on day 2. :wall: ..it was the MK ULTRA plant. so i still have the S.A.G.E plant left. BUT, since i decided to change my scheduling i will most likely NOT be keeping it. i planted them both on day 30 remember? and since one died (with no replacement) , AND with the fact im gonna need longer to flower the plants i already have under the 250 ive decided to plant 3 new seeds TODAY on day 40 and pick the best 2 out of the bunch in a week or so to put under the 250  ..then ill do the same thing in another 40 days. that will put the oldest ones at day 80 and if they haven't been cut down yet, im sure by the time the seeds i plant that day under the T-5's are ready to go under the HPS (14-20 days later) that the grapefruit plants will be ready for harvest! (day 94-100)

as for my pride and joys.. lol. the grapefruit plants. they're still doing wonderfully. growing at a rate of about 1.5in per day over the past 7-8 days. growth is beginning to stagnate now though as i can tell bud production is beginning to take off. her hairs have been doubling in quantity over the past 2-3 days and the smell is REALLY starting to smell like straight up fruit. lmao. like some fresh cut citrus in that bitch!

so heres some pictures..

blue widow #1, #2, #3: DAY 0
S.A.G.E: DAY 9 - 2.5 in.
http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/products/dinafem-blue-widow <---- these are the new girls ive picked for this month :weed: !!!!SO EXCITED FOR THESE!!!!
day0.day9.jpgday0.day9 (2).jpgday0.day9 (3).jpg

grapefruit #1: DAY 40 - 23.5 in.
day 40.jpgday 40 (2).jpgday 40 (3).jpgday 40 (4).jpg

grapefruit #2: DAY 40 - 25 in.
day 40 (5).jpgday 40 (6).jpgday 40 (7).jpg

so thats where im at! ill be updating more regularly (2-3 days), now that i have everything figured out with what im doing and who im growing! lol. stick around cus i cant wait to show you guys some buds!! they'll be here soon! MY FIRST! uggghh i cant wait. thanks for stopping by. MUCH LOVE!

PEACE! :peace: bongsmilie
