12/12 From seed or Auto?

Hi guys im thinking of doing three autoflower grows under a 250W CFL with some side lighting with smaller cfls. But ive been reading a lot of people saying that 12/12 from seed for a photoperiod plant is just as quick with the benefits of a bigger yeild. I just wanted to hear some opinions really. Thanks a lot

Auto-flowering strain are flowering under 18/6 or 24/0. A 12/12 light cycle is for "regular" strain
