12/12 CFL Aerogarden 1st journal

Heya. This is my first journal and I'm doin an Aerogarden setup w/ bagseed. 3 26 Watt CFLs +the AG hood w/ 2 26w CFLs. 2 are the soft 'flowering' bulb types. Using AG nutes waiting to get some tiger bloom. This is day 15 of 20/4 but I'm gonna be travelling in a couple months so I'm goin 12/12 to try to harvest b4 I leave. I've been reading a lot of other journals and absorbing the wisdom of many especially Mr. Sicc. Here's pics of my little NYC dungeon. Any help, questions or suggestions are very welcome.

Yo hurry and get those grow sponges deeper in the pods. they should not be sticking out like that. and tape those labels down so light is not hitting the sponges. VERY IMPORTANT. I would do this like NOW. Do this before the roots get too big to adjust the sponge. You might need to take the whole pod out to adjust it to sit correctly.

other then that they look nice & green

Kinda scared to cut the sponges now with the roots throughout them, but i definitely appreciate the advice. I've been thinking about that and should have taken care of it sooner.

Just taped them down and trimmed the sponges as much as i could while avoiding roots. It's ugly and it sucks to make that kinda mistake early that I'll have to live with for the next two months but I'll cross my fingers:cry:.

yea man good luck. hopefully they will be ok. get a lil bit of air flow (fan) in there too to strengthen those stalks & branches.

Hey Hey. Hello Mr. Sicc glad to see you're chekin out my little adventure. I've had some spotting problems on the leaves that I first noticed 2 days ago so I flushed and PH'd. Everything looks ok. A couple are starting to look like their slightly weaker(pics 3 and 4), but I might wait until I see some flowers before I cull. I may as well mention that I'm aware that I cant bring all of these beauties to fruition even if they are fems. Since it was bagseed and based on past experiences I figured I'd cast a wide net. Here's some pics, and some root pron for those who are into that kinda thing.

Glad be follow along my friend

Looks like some nute burn to me, when was there last feeding?
only seems to be effecting the old leaves, so they should be fine, seems like its just one plant. but you could always flush the rez and fill with pH'd water for a lil, then try again with the nutes at a lower dosage.
That's usually what happens i have been noticing, i tend to give out the same advice over and over haha, you always want to start out at 1/4 strength
How many extra CFL's do you have going? also looks like your have topped some, how long ago was that?

Last feeding, (which was the second) was 6 days ago and it was 1/2 strength. First was quarter, so maybe I should stay at that level for a while. I've got 4 extra cfls, 2 2700k and 2 6500k all 23w. I figure I've got about 140w in cfls right now (including the AG hood) is that enough? I'm pretty sure I've seen people make it work with the same or less. I did the topping 6 days ago as well. S'funny, I've read the same advice from you over and over, I think I just jumped from 1/4 to 1/2 too fast. Thanks for the tips, I'll post new pics tomorrow!

Sorry for the delay, I've been sick, but of course keeping up with my babies. Without further ado here's some pics. Not much vertical growth but definitely filling out. I think I'm gonna cut those dying leaves, my rule of thumb used to be if it was half dead I'd kill it, but I'd like to hear the opinions of others. (there's 2 pics of the dying leaves) It's been 5 days since my flush, no spots on any of the leaves that have grown since then, think I can go back to 1/4 nutes?
I would clip those leaves, they look really droopy, when was the last rez change?
Rez change was yesterday.
thats could be the problem, i would try to get one, the tubing and the pump with the airstone should be no more them 20 bucs
No doubt. What about the nutes? Don't want my little darlins to starve!
