are thease big enough to do the whole thing and have good results? ie indoors in a tent 400hps carbon filter ect?

Yes that will suffice for about a 4 or 5 foot plant. I wouldn't grow more than 2 or maybe 3 under one lite.

I'd say they'd be ideal, you'd start flowering at a height of 12-14 inches so that when they're finished stretching the total plant height is about 2 - 2.5 feet. That's the depth a 400 watt light can effectively penetrate.
