looks like that bulbs is ready to put in average household sockets.. i checked the 150 cfl and it said mogul so im thinking this one is a step down.
i would purchase 4 of those and see how it goes.

you can buy regular light socket to mogul light socket skew ins at home improvement stores they would work great for that because the cfl is self ballasted

Yes most CFLs under 150w can be used in a regular light socket

has anyone ever tried uvb cfl's designed for reptiles? a little off topic but i was just curious to who has.

i had one in my closet grow and the leaves would respond and grow to wherever it was placed more than my other cfl's

so i put two in there at kind of a close range (4") and the leaves curled a little too much and got crispy. i suppose its the heat?

maybe i should take them out.

ok so back on topic though. I am going to go to Home Depot like tomorrow, i should get 1 95-105 Watt CFL and if needed a mogul socket converter. that should be cool for my one plant right its about 18" tall and 13" wide at its widest point.

to start a new thread you have to go to the page you want to be in for example general growing newbie central and then at near the top left corner there is a button that says new thread i think that is how you do it

about the lights some people push wattage wich dose produce more light but i chose 14 23w less lumens but more lights to spread around because cfls do not penetrate foliage well

Na its not the heat from that reptile bulb its the uvb.. You basicly giving your plants a nasty sun burn....... Not the same thing as a heat lamp either.. 2 different bulbs...(although sometimes combined)

Do you have the 5.0 or the 10.0 bulbs?

Also UVB bulbs are super dangerous for human eyes and skin... To the point you should turn it off before you check your grow...

The reason alot of people use them in grow ops is that some believe that supplementing uvb will increase the amount of crystal on ur bud... Most only use it around 4 hours a day...

Another lil tid bit reptile bulbs produce no usable light for pot plants... It doesnt count as part of your lighting... Look at it as a supplement......

i found these 105 watt cfls on this sight and was wondering if anyone knows if they would fit standard light sockets and if they do fit standard sockets would they create heat and electric problems?
