How many lowriders could I put under a 1000w HPS to gain maximum yield? I have a light with a large shade, and the lowriders are nice yielders in the short amount of time they grow. Thanks to anyone who can help!

iv heard lowrider sucks, not trying to hate just saying you should think about a different strain. but you could prob fit 12 under the light if you did 3 x 4 set up with your pots or what ever your growing in, you could prob do 16 with a 4 x 4 set up. id think anything over 16 would be way overkill for just a 1000 watt. but i could be wrong

That's what I'm curious about, they will grow in smaller pots (2gal), and they say you can put them close together with some pruning. Would 5x4 be too many?

I have 16 going under a 600 watt hps. They are in 1 gallon smart pots. If you do not know what a smart pot is look them up and buy them. You can get larger plants out of smaller containers. I know people that have gone from 5 gallon to 2 gallon and increased their yield. I have lowryder hybrids though. Lemon skunk, hindu kush, and bluberry. They love the smart pots!

nice input-I just like to know what you mean by that.
all I have to say is there very easy to grow, very good smoke and you can get 1.5- 2 crops compared to photoperiod trains.
the trick with AF is light and a 1000watt light is plenty for 20 plants.
but I guess it's all hearsay.
there's journals all over the place for auto's(and most don't yeild much becouse people put them in pc cases)

There are haters everywhere. If you really want some shitty comments try growing lowryders under l.e.d. in miracle grow potting soil with cfl side lighting. I think we could bring just about every hater out on that grow. If it works for you then keep doing it. Fuck what everyone else thinks. Lowryders are great for small space, and if done right the smoke is comparable to most others. The great thing is you dont have to worry about light leaks, height of your grow space, or a number of other factors. They are great to keep a rotation of different flavors, and pull some finished product every couple of weeks. Just throw some new beans in when you feel like starting a new crop. They are very easy to work with. I do believe that they are the perfect breed for the average person to get their feet wet in, and some just might choose to stay with them.

if you grow the ak47 X lowrider #1 ive seen people get half an ounce dried from that. you could probly put around 30 lowryders under the light

So 30 is NOT overdoing it? That's what I wanted to know, because that should be some serious yield.
