My plants are young but growing very fast under my fluorescent light. Very soon it will be time to move to my 1000 watt hps light. How far should my light be at first. Since they are young I cant have it too close or it will hurt the plant right? What is a good starting distance and when and much should I move it up. Thanks for reading

put it as close with out buning them you will no by putting your hand under the light if your plants can handle it. my 1000wtt hps is 12" all the time till they are up in the hood.

veg as long as you want to. flower 8 to 10 weeks
So the hps light helps the plant transfer into the flowering stage, but the longer i let it veg under the my fluorescent it will have bigger yield in flowering. Is a 24 watt flourescent light powerful enough for my plants once they get bigger but still before i want them to flower.

Thanx

Ok when you first start put 1000w lights about 3 feet away and then when they get there 2nd and 3rd set of leaves I would put it as close as you can without burn which would probly be like 18 inches away but thats only if its a vented light
if not DONT TAKE ANY OF MY ADVICE CAUSE THEY MAY BURN

hps bulb only simulates the sun at a certain point of the year which gives off more red spectrum than blue. Which makes it more efficient or ideal for the budding stage of the plant but will work for the entire life of the plant. It doesnt help the plant transfer to flowering. HPS makes the buds dense and compact cfl's or mh during flower will be very fluffy. GOOD LUCK.

do you have a switchable ballast? if not you will need a conversion bulb or you will need to get a ballast for an HPS bulb.

i would start it as far away as possible then slowly move it closer a couple of inches each day til you get to about 2 feet. be careful starting to close with freshy's they burn easy. dont ask how i know LOL

your going to get some stretch out of her if the light is to high. put the light as close as you can. put your hand under the light .you will be able to tell if its to hot for your girl..

To diddystyles yeah thats rite if you use the shps it just makes for better natural spectrum which promotes the dense nugs, now the mh it will still create nugs just not as big and dense considering the bulb has very little red spectrum in a mh bulb.

The new bulbs from eye hortilux are the super blues and its the hps and mh that run for the whole life of the plant those are badass bulbs and thats a great setup. It completes the full spectrum.

no just a pic from the net. ill be growing some blueberry next. i hope i looks like that.

When I see something with such an amazing amount of color to it I tend to question the authenticity of the picture. When I hung around at the old CW there was a certain breeder there posted pictures of strains he created and the colors were utterly stunning. Later it was discovered that he was computer enhancing the colors in hopes of impressing more possible customers and getting their business and earning more money.

Maybe in that case the picture is legitimate but I would have to question it considering I know that people will at times for some reason or reasons enhance colors to make plants appear to be more impressive.

i know what your saying. different lighting will also give the pic some appealing colors.
