100% sealed system.... Why vent the hoods?

If you have a 100% sealed grow room with Dual hose A/C. Why would you want vented hoods?

Advantages of no hoods:
1) Can double as a heater
2) No light loss through glass
3) save money on running vent fan
4) less noise
5) save money on buying non vented hoods

Disadvantages:
1) A/C would run more
2)??

What do you think.

your air will be sky high. for a small grow that is too hard and cool tubes are easy but for a bigger grow then I see the big air cond all the time and bare bulb. make sure you get dehumidifiers too. the moisture is the killer. so bad. i vent mine now all night and once every two hours before i blast twice the recomended co2 and the plants love it now

Blowing air from outside the room through the lights then exhausting outside is basically free air conditioning. Your A/C will run less this way, no real reason not to unless your outdoor climate sucks. =)

I use a HydroHut and I notice about a 10-15 degree difference when not venting the hoods. much cheaper to keep the tent cool by using vented hoods rather than making the A/C work harder. better for the A/C unit too.

one reason would be to get the lights closer to the plants. that's a bigger factor than light loss through glass. also, it's gotta be cheaper than more a/c to run a closed system with the air coming from outside the grow area and leaving the grow area without mixing with grow room air.

You'll have a hard time keeping 3kw open bulb cool all the time with even the very best dual hose portable a/c. Have you actually tried yours?
It may not handle it at all.

Vent those hoods anyway, make life cheaper and easier.
