100% hermie rate on Advanced Nutrients

Hey folks. I've recently switched some of my grow to AN. I'm using the Sensi Grow A&B for veg now (along with myochorrizae and Roots Excelurator), all is great there. Using Connoisseur A&B in flower.

I put half my flowering plants on Connoisseur, and the other half on General Hydroponics (Go Box).

Every single one of the plants that received the Con. have begun sprouting bananas everywhere. Meanwhile, the GH Go Box has been producing great, problem free plants for awhile now. It's obvious that the AN is the culprit, but I don't know why. I have used a low concentration as I am growing in soil. Given that the plants are in Sunshine #4 I know that the plants are getting plenty of nutes, and there is no nute burn or lockout to speak of. Runoff ph is 6.3

The Con. is so obviously the culprit as I have clones from the same mother at the same age in the same medium, growing environment, etc and are all about the same size for a SOG setup. Only the plants with AN are in hermie, and none of the Go Box are. The plants in question are 2x Sensi Seeds Hash Plant, 1x G13 Haze, and 5 Afghan Kush. Exactly 4 of these plants were showing full blown bananas by week 4. The other 4 where AN wasn't used have no issues at all. I'm real close to leaving negative reviews everywhere, but want to rule out anything I might be doing wrong, which I have no clue what that is.

There are no light leaks. The temp ranges from between 70-80 at the very extreme. All climate controlled. Moving > 2000 CFM through the area. Went through grows before where I had late hermies, but never what appears to be stress hermies half-way through.

Ideas?

More than likely you have a light leak . Try switching the two locations and see if you get the same results .

Are you serious man? Put healthy plants into an area where there are hermies to see if they hermie too in order to check for a light leak? Do you even grow anything at all? A mod too... I'm so out of here. This site has never been helpful anyway.

That doesn't make any sense. Unless there is something wrong with your Connoissuer... is it old? Does it smell normal?

If not, logically there is nothing in it that is going to stress your plants unless you're feeding incorrectly. That's a popular high end product that a lot of growers use and swear by. The hermies must simply be a coincidence.

Never heard of plant food turning plants hermie before
even plants that get badly burnt from overfeeding
twisted distorted curly leaves still no herming

i know the light leaks thing to be so exaggerated, leaks need to be significant
and constant for days to cause problems

sorry i can't help, i have seen very few hermies when i do see them
im pretty sure its just the genetics in my case
i have only ever run regular seeds for the most part, my next run i will run some fems
maybe ill start seeing more hermies

peace

never heard of such a thing in my life, and i can't figure out why a fertilizer would cause a plant to turn hermie..

i use a/n's stuff, the two part veg, 2 part flower, and a bunch of their other stuff, and have never seen a hermie in my garden yet, knock on wood..

i'd try and narrow it down to something else playing a role in it, other than your nutrients..

If you don't want switch rooms as previous poster said you need to go in the room at different stages of darkness and make sure you don't have a leak. Like most others have posted never heard of nutes causing Hermes.

I've ran AN for four years never had a problem with hermies, when I did it was a light leak.

And why bash riu because you didn't get the answer you wanted?

It has nothing to do with the nutrients. Blame what you want but do a little home work and you will see how re-dick-u-les this sounds. You don't need top shelf nutrients to grow decent cannabis, but saying that, all these top brands come pretty well balanced and is highly unlikely to cause issues like yours...JAS

is there any other reason for stress in those ( hermi ) plants??
because..it looks like nobody (else) thinks AN are the reason for hermis..
think again..you'r missing something..

Well I believe in the scientific method being able to reproduce your results . If you don't have a light leak as you claim . Than you stumbled upon a bottle of chemicals that are able to induce a hermaphrodite change with the plant with out the use of silver . but simple through feeding in the roots your might be sitting on a cash pot . Seed companys for one might like to be able to self cross strains just by feeding them with a particular nutrient home growers might buy it here and there . for there own back crosses or you have a simple light leak and you need to correct the problem . Sorry if I offended you that was not my plain when I posted . If you have 100% ruled out a light leak run the test again if the results are the same get that bottle in to be tested .

I was ready to throw the towel until i found this tread . Im changing the nuts this time ,will see what happens .Cant be a coincidence

If it keeps happening, and you've actually tried everything including changing genetics, I would be suspecting the water. The supplies pretty much everywhere (including ground water/wells) at this point are contaminated with everything from forever chemicals, to hormone disrupting pharma drugs, and even plant growth regulators, etc. I doubt it's the nutes by themselves, lol. They don't even test for all the possible substances in most cities, and you would need multiple elaborate 100000 panel tests to really figure out whats all really in your supply.. but who knows. Not everything can be filtered with an RO membrane either.
