10 week old bag seeds looking rather healthy! But...

As the thread title says, I have some rather healthy bag seed plants, but was contemplating adding more lighting if necessary. They seem a bit tall and skinny, but other than that they’ve been very easy to manage and haven’t given me deficiency issues. I’m using a single 1500lm LED light and a generic desk lamp to supply light around the base of the plant. Both plants have developed pistils under 24 hours of light a day, so I know they’re autos. My question - is it worth to up the lighting this late into flowering? I’m not expecting much with this grow at all. I didn’t expect them to live this long given that these are bag seeds that I have no clue of their genetics. Both plants are the same age.

I don't think that these are showing pistils at all, just new leaf growth, I would wait a few days and see if any white hairs pop out of it. I don't see any from these pics.

those are female pre flowers. not necessarily an auto. yes it is worth it to up the lighting. plant is still very early stages not into flowering at all.

Thanks for the input! I just checked on them after 2 days of being out of town and they seem to be growing taller and more leaf shoots as Wonka had mentioned. I just added a Kingplus 1200w grow light and ditched the single 1500lm bulb in hopes to make them more bushy and not as tall and skinny. Correct me if I’m wrong, as I’m very new to this, I thought only autos can produce pistils under a 24-hour light schedule? The first close up I provided shows few pistils and it’s been under a 24-hour light schedule since a seedling.

it could be an auto for sure. do you have any reason to suspect that besides the preflowers though. they are preflowers not true pistils in your first closeup. i was just saying it could also be a sexually mature female in veg. notice how your nodes went from opposite to alternating. that means she is ready to be put into flowering. and preflowers are female. so good news either way. if she keeps flowering and throwing more pistils then its an auto. if it keeps growing bigger and only shows these two pistils per node then those are just preflowers and it needs 12/12 to fully flower.

Great point and observation , I didn’t think about the opposite to alternating nodes as a sign of being ready to be put into flowering. I just believed that these were autos because I didn’t know preflowers can develop on photoperiods under 24 hours of light a day. This is valuable information to me, I appreciate it! I’ll be sure to keep this thread posted on the growth of these two plants:)

You have had some great advice so far.
One point I’ve picked up on that suggests photo period plants and not auto’s - you say in the thread title they are both 10 WEEKS old. Your average auto, even under poor lighting will be not far from harvest at 10 weeks (they might not yield a lot under poor lighting but will at least have fully formed buds). Even the sativa based strains will be much further along in the budding stage.
I would say you have two photos and adding the new light will mean you have just given yourself a much better chance of harvesting something more than just a joints worth.
Good luck!
