10/14 Hour Light Cycle??

Ok so I know everyone does a 12 hour on/ 12 hour off light cycle, hell I've even been doing it lol, but no one really explains the 12/12 as more than what is needed for the plant to start flowering. I had a thought today, we're nearing the summer soltice (longest sunlight day of the year) which will only have 15h 40m 24s of sunlight according to a meteorology website with the statistics for my area.

That's only 3 and a half hours longer than people recommend for an indoor plant's flowering light cycle.

So I'm wondering if plants might be a bit more fertile from having a little more beauty sleep, has anyone heard of a 10/14 cycle being tried?:bigjoint:

the predominate theory is that the shorter the light cycle the quicker ur girl will mature.

i think most people us 12/12 is it's just enough to flower and they think the more light they get maybe bigger buds? thats just an observation.

usually when im doing indoor i start flowering at 12/12 and finish with 10/14.
