1 plant in a 1 gal Vs. 3 plants in a 3 gal / Barneys farm sweet tooth auto topped

It's just something i've always wondered i have 1 amnesia auto dinafem in a 1 gal fairly stable on pheno's and have 1 amnesia in a 3 gal with 2 bhd's ive grown the bhd's out but have only had 3 diff pheno's so if i get the monster might have problems lol

medium soil/soiless mix mostly perlite / moss / and some coco based indoor at a 1/1/1 mix most my auto's like it just have to water a little more
nutes technaflora recipe for sucess
lighting 400 true watts cfl mixed 2500k 5000k 6000k
venting 6" carbon scrubber and a 240 cfm fan small desk fan 4" to move air through canopy
water is artesian well water i dont ph it stays fairly stable

it's not my first grow or first auto grow it's my first on this forum

i have a barneys farm sweet tooth auto that i topped at one node roughly at 2 weeks so it would make a Y it is at day 20 showing preflowers and filling in nicely roughly 12" tall and 19"X16" wide it is in a 1.2 gal bucket with 1/2" holes drilled around the bottom roughly 4 rows around the bottom used a screen around the inside bottom to prevent the medium from washing out now ive just started another sweet tooth that i am going to do nothin to just feed and compare the results to this one it will be 24 days behind this one
its in a larger planter but is not air pruned so it should be on fairly level playing field its in almost a 2 gal pot instead of a 1.2 but whatever

Nice. I will keep my eye on what you do. I want to check out that topped sweet tooth auto. I want to top my set but I have read it is better to just let them go.

im running recipe for success nutes at half strength with no burning feed twice a week water first then 30 mins later i feed 1/4 gal of water on days i dont feed

• the burnt tips i have are light bleaching and just in places they have actually touched a lamp they grow so fast and its hard to keep up when working 10-12 hour days

ive heard if your gonna top a auto do it early and have topped all of my auto's and have never been disappointed i didnt know half the stuff i was doing was wrong but my grows all went ok i always treated them like i was growing a photo if i nute burned em i slacked off if they looked water logged i watered less and put more perlite in the soil on the next grow till i finally came up with what i use now

so one of the bhd's is showing a blue / purple tint and is much larger then the others i have grown transplanted to individual containers so this may turn from a experiment to a bhd monster grow will keep posted by the way i transplanted the lolipop bhd and amnesia and did as little to disturb the blue as i could

autoflower strains sex themselves in 15-20 days, topping them only stresses them more than they need to be, since its a short plant, id rather have the giant cola that autoflowers come with, and small side branches, be lucky if they reached 4 foot..which worked better for you, the 1 in a gallon pot or the 3 in a 3 gallon pot?

ive grown all these strains out and if i top them i have multiple cola's and a shorter plant 4' is out of the question in my box and i ask if my plant is half way through its life cycle and even with lst and topped is 12" tall then wheres the stress
im not a sheep that follows the masses transplanting them shocks them to right? but i've never had a problem

ive had a couple hermi's but everyone was my fault stress gave me more feminized seeds so wheres the loss if you read the OP then you would know this is not my first grow and im a cfl grower if my plant is spread out then i dont have to lolipop and get more light penetration and my side branches will be nug's not small popcorns
picture is worth a thousand words this plant isnt running behind and even topped is keeping up and right on the same timeline as the few other journals i've found
am i the only one that understands this ?

and i had to transplant them out of the 3 gal i ended up with a blue hue monster BHD and will grow it out in this journal
i will retry the 1 gal 3 gal grow but with more stable strain

if you get a bhd that looks like this then it is a good day twice the size of a amnesia same age and dwarfs the other bhd's ive grown roughly a week and a couple days old blue/purple hues already showing in leaves

sweet tooth update its only been a few days since last pics but pistils have quadrupled and is really packing on the mass one more veg feed today then full switch to lite bloom nutes after a few days of straight water to try and flush residual veg nutes from medium

taking really well to the veg nutes been on a feed,feed,? till i decide if its time to up it or water and hold same ratio noticed it light bleaches easier can almost see the coils of the cfl's and they where 2 inches away never know plant may have reached out and laid back down while i was at work and touched the light working 12 hr days kills your grow

side note noticing a slight yellowing of lower fan leaves may add a slight amount of veg nutes to my bloom to supplement additional (N)

this was one was transplanted from the 3 gal pot amnesia growth slowed but resumed after 2-3 days

I have 5 autos now that are 11 and 10 days old, about 2-3 inches in height 3rd set of leaves. When should I start adding veg nutes (buddha grow?). I am growing them in roots organic soil.

The 5th plant is a dinafem ww auto thats slightly stunted. still working on it's 2nd set of true leaves.

nutes are 1/4 strength at like maybe 3 weeks the thing is most soil have nutes in it that will last until week 3 -4 i use alot of perlite almost 1/2 so i have to suppliment for that

there life span is so short that you dont have too feed them only a couple times on the veg or ill just give them really light feeds couple times a week water in between they love the bloom boosters i use sugar daddy and they like it can definatly tell when i up the dose towards the end

Bhd? Not too hip I guess. I splay mine out too 400hps -6" from 12" thick canopy. Never grown autos but have noticed smaller pots speed things up as long as feed is adequate roots eat plant grows. Once roots feel fenced focus goes above ground stopping when maxed out. Transplant and repeat same results. Throw it in large to begin creates no urgency cruises at a snails pace relatively. You usually can't see what's really going on. Feeding a plant in a 2l bottle a gallon a day is more time consuming but less waste lower humidity.

himalaya blue diesel lol spelled it wrong from short stuff there is one pheno its the lottery ticket if you can isolate it very rare but it takes the blue himalaya stance and bushes like crazy first time ive seen blue hue's from the start so not gonna chance it getting ready to herm this one out nd cross it with all plants that have budding going to try and salvage some genetics

snails pace ? your not a auto grower i can tell if your plants auto's are creeping then something is wrong 1-2 inches a day in veg is normal the only time mine slow is when they switch to flower growth slows almost stops for a few days
