    Where do I start?

Can't give you a review on the 3590's but I really like what my CXB3070's (3000K) are doing for the girls... 8 cobs w/90 deg reflectors, 40"X12" passive heat sink, 2 MW drivers, I'm into it for around $700+-.

    Advanced platinum led 150

$400 to $500, you can build a much better light than what you can buy. There are many here that have much more knowledge than me but this is a way to go. You can get cpu coolers (fan and heatsink) for around $10 or less (1 per cob) Cree CXB3070 cobs with reflectors for around $35 each. 4 cob...

    Advanced platinum led 150

LR3 is spot on. I have a P600 and it's OK at best, pretty much a veg or backup light now. Building a light is not difficult if you have the skills (if I can do it anyone can) and the tools. And it sound like you could build a much better light for what you would pay for the P300. There are a...

    Reflectors -vs- Lenses

I just got thr Hey Rahz, I just got through rebuilding my light using the reflectors and very happy I did. The original light, I used 90 deg lenses and the focus was good and I had good canopy penetration but there was some light loss the sides of the lenses. In my room I have reflection on...

    Matching Drivers and COBs

Yeah,my figures are all messed up. That drivers has a constant voltage of 36v @ 6.7 amps. You could run 6 3590's @1.1166, or 8 @0.8.75. Would be a nice light if my numbers are right. Wish one of the guru light builders would chime in, Stephen, you out there?

    Matching Drivers and COBs

Here are the specs. http://www.meanwell.com/mw_search/hlg-240h/HLG-240H-SPEC.PDF I'm just learning this stuff and If I understand the calculations correctly (please school me if I'm wrong ;)) the voltage range is 127 ~ 431VDC and figuring the cob dcv is 36v that would mean you can up to 12...

trying to drill into my hs why do is it so hard

forgot to mention, don't over heat the bit tip and dip the bit in the wax or oil often to keep it cool.

trying to drill into my hs why do is it so hard

Slow speed and cutting wax. You should be using a drill press or at the very least a drill guide but it can be done free hand if you're steady of hand. If drilling free hand I would first drill a smaller pilot hole and take your time. Good luck

am I missing anything .. Should I get from here

Heat is not your friend, if you are within 15-20% of maxing out a heat sink either, bigger heat sink or add a fan or two.

    Yet another CXA3070 build...

Lookin good bassman! I use the wire tie down until the plant get some height to it then I start using string and paper clips cut in half to look like a fish hook (kinda). The paper clip with string attached can be hooked to a branch to direct the growth and I usually hook to the pot edge...
