That's a heater core from a car with a server fan that is ac not dc......if u want to super chill the coolant simply use a window unit air conditioner up against ur radiator instead of a fan. U Can plumb the heat to anywhere u want like outside ur house in the summer and inside your house or...

Also keep in mind the lift height of the system puts a load on the pump. The closer to equalizing the res/radiator to the light bar heights the better.less load=less wattage +longer life of pump

A larger reservoir just holds more heat......i had a 35 gallon trash can I ran for a res and it wasn't any better than 5gallon.....i switched back to 5gallon. Picture this whole set up as a cars closed loop cooling system, low volume with high flow through small channels.....

I have built the tubes.... Yeah 1/2"is fine for flow, yes u get air after the pumps shut down, no it doesn't matter as long as you get water flowing again. I have to advise putting the outlet higher than the inlet if a lil trapped air scares you. The thing is water will flow across the bottom...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

These are super cheap and easy to make. They make great side lights. Yeah those are Chinese cobs! Yes they will grow and yeah they don't compare at all to Cree,Vero etc. But they make great test subjects for newly crafted heatsinks!!!! I prefer Cree after proving my designs. I would suggest that...

Then I built the my nastykewl cob led heat sinks. I used extruded aluminum tubing that is several inches in diameter and36" long.i welded 1/2" thick caps on either end, tapped them to accept 1/4"npt fitting to 1/2" pex , then used 3/4 heater hose to the automotive heater core with a fan and...

    Heatsinks for DIY LED lamps

I did all the above for bonding lol. I've drilled out blocks of aluminum and plumbed the passages with one channel under each cob. I then drilled mounting holes all the way thru without hitting the water passages. I used several of these blocks in conjunction running 400w on one large block with...

If ur concern is failure of pumps this is no different than if a fan fails......use thermal couple shut offs ,flow switches ,heat detectors etc..... Same as air cooled

The beauty of watercooled is expandability but dividing flow to multiple blocks requires attention to flow through each one equally......

I had a pump go out and just the volume of water in the system was enough to dissipate heat until I realized it lol

who wants a couple of 3ft long water cooled heatsinks

I have my set of square tube watercooled heat sinks up for grabs. One has some cxa3050 Cree cobs w one auto grow accompanied by some cheap Chinese cobs. I was running it at 490w. The second has some Chinese cobs that are spent and need replaced. The fixtures are to be used w thermal epoxy or...
