trying to flower this fucking 3.5ft plant

Have you started 12/12 yet? Just wondering cause you said you were using bloom food. I'd use veg food up to 12/12 also I'd work your way up to half strength on the bloom food. As for the lights 5 23w is about 8000 lumen total I'd probably add more. More light=more bud. I currently have two...

is any kind of flat white paint ok?

Voc's are the harmful gasss in paint. I'm not sure of there effects on plants but off gassing of voc's can continue a long time after paint is dry. A low voc water based paint would probably be your best bet.

    Hi newbie here

Lumens is the amount of light the human eye sees. All of that light is not usable by the plant for photosynthesis. So it's not that good of a measurement. It's not always true but generally speaking more watts=more lumens. Slightly over 500w has given me over 34,000 lumen.

    Hi newbie here

Hey is that 250w cfl true watts or watts equivaliant? If its watts equivalent I believe you will need to add more light as you go. Even if it's true watts you will still probably want to add some more light. I'm on my first grow and started with 28 actual watts I now use slightly over 500.

Cheap Ideas for a grow setup

Hey guys I just wanted to share a few of the things i've been able to pick up at my local goodwills. Maybe this will save someone some money. My setup is kinda ghetto buts its working well for me. I have a total of 18 cfl lights, all but the 4 reflectors were purchased for between 75 cent and 4...

!!pics!!! First cfl grow (9-23watt) (help!!!)

Flowering usually takes between 6-9 weeks and then you have drying and curing which is another few weeks. You only have about five weeks until you are supposed to leave so even if you started flowering today I don't think you would meet your deadline. Good luck with your grow man

    My first grow

Hey I noticed you said you were using a 5000k bulb. They will work your plant is proof but during veg you should use a 6500k and for flowering you should use 2700k. Good luck with your grow man.

My first grow 28,800 lumen cfl

Wow! Your fixture is great! I like your setup. I'd love to build something like that eventually when money permits. What kind of fan is that? For the time being I think I'm gonna try draping something like you suggested. I was thinking of using an emergency blanket. Thanks for the idea man. +rep

    another cfl grow

I had a hard time finding good soil also. I started off with miracle grow organic and switched when I transplanted to a bigger container due to the soil compacting wayyyy too much. Now I'm using scotts top soil with perlite and lime. I know its not the best stuff but you can buy it at homedepot...

My first grow 28,800 lumen cfl

Hey I agree with you the side branches are pretty thin. I actually already one of the big cfls its a 68w 300w equivalent putting out 4200 lumen. Its in between both of the plants you can see it in my first picture. On top I have two 42w in a y splitter making a total of 5600 lumen so combined...
