Based on all the experience people have gained on there forums using various DIY builds. What are the biggest challenges in switching from traditional grow lights to white COBS. Most importantly what are the biggest changes in nutrient requirements.

I was at Costco the other day and they have outdoor light strings that take A19(I think) comes with standard 11 watt bulbs, and has 25 spots for bulbs, cost $50. With the standard bulbs the stringer would suck for growing. But what about replacing them with 8.5 watt 60 watt equivalent 800lm...

Has anyone considered using square aluminum tubing, weld on end caps with taps for water cooling? http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?id=1271&step=2&top_cat=60 There is all sorts of this stuff!

I guess the question speaks for its self. I wired my Arctic 11 plus fans in backwards, the power was only on for a small amount of time, after rewiring it correctly they are still not working. I am getting power out of the driver to them, but its no go. Are they fried? Do they need to be reset...

I saw something around here about Kapton tape being used? Not using screws would make the whole process way faster and simpler. The main concern is getting enough compression on the COB to evenly spread out the thermal paste for good conductivity. Thoughts?
