Advice needed on 9 oz. Cure gone wrong!!!

Update: My crispy buds aren't crispy anymore! The Boveda packs gave them a much better feel, so I guess they're working! But still gonna keep an eye on the rH in the jars. Thanks for your thoughtful advice, Doer, I'm learning. Peace and great grows to all you guys!

Advice needed on 9 oz. Cure gone wrong!!!

I know they won't go back and restart the curing process, that would be too good to be true! I just don't want my stuff to feel so dry and was wondering if it might moisten up a little without molding from the Boveda packs. As far as smoking, Slipon, you right! It doesn't matter so much to me...

Advice needed on 9 oz. Cure gone wrong!!!

Doer, I got that shit straight off of RIU, from many sources! Then I found a couple that said not to wait until the stems completely snap, (Hell, I even found one that said to dry them to..."Cervantes touch"- WTF?? I mean, I know who he is, but how am I supposed to know what his touch is????)...

Advice needed on 9 oz. Cure gone wrong!!!

You're right, Someguy, I overdried them, for sure! Newbie mistake -won't do that again. The Boveda packs are 62% rH. I'm definitely going to give it a shot while keeping a very close watch. Thanks, everyone! Peace

Advice needed on 9 oz. Cure gone wrong!!!

I have over 9 oz. of bud that has been in the jars for 30 days, and my problem is this: When I first put the buds in the jars and put a hygrometer in one of them overnight, the rH was only 45%! I read that curing only takes place when the rH is between 65% and 55%. After I harvested, I hung...

Is my entire 9 oz. White widow harvest lost????

Kermit2692, it sounds like you're saying I dried too long, but the potency is pretty damn good, so I still would consider my grow a success. I just don't want to make the same mistake again! To clarify, does anyone know what causes the hay smell and how to avoid it next time???

Is my entire 9 oz. White widow harvest lost????

smokecat, its good, couple friends that smoked it loved it, and wanted to buy zips. I actually did grow it for personal use, but it being my first grow, I vegged way too long and got two huge plants. The 9 zips is really just the actual buds, that doesn't include the several jars of popcorn I...

Is my entire 9 oz. White widow harvest lost????

Thanks for the reply, Retired. You're right about the bullshit - everything I read said dry until the stems snaps, that's exactly what I did, then I put them in the jars. I haven't seen any evidence of any kind of humidity whatsoever in the jars, no moisture on the lids, nothing. I'm still...

Is my entire 9 oz. White widow harvest lost????

Thanks, but Yes, it does smell sort of like hay. It smokes and vapes fine, good up buzz, but what I want to know is: Has/Will the THC mature like it's supposed to, or is this the best it's going to be??? And what does the hay smell mean?

Is my entire 9 oz. White widow harvest lost????

I just recently harvested two large White Widows from my first ever DWC grow. I hung it to dry in a room with 50-54% rH and 72F. Took a little less than a week for the stems to snap. I have had it curing in the jars since 2/22/14. I read a lot about curing and, from the way I understand it...

Nute burned flowering white widows!! Collapsed trichomes????

Temps in my bloom room are around 68F with a rh of about 40%, so I believe that's ok. I think it was the Koolbloom on top of the nutes that burned them. But since I flushed them, I have them back on nutes - started low, worked it up little by little. This last rez change, I even put back in...

Nute burned flowering white widows!! Collapsed trichomes????

Weedenhanced, this is the status of my plants: Most of the pistils on one plant are red and curled into the bud like you said, and it doesn't look like anything new is developing. On the other one, most of the pistils are red and curled into the bud, but she keeps getting more new calyxes...

Nute burned flowering white widows!! Collapsed trichomes????

JD, thanks so much for your input. I'm in the process of slowly increasing the nute strength, and if they don't appear to be getting worse, I'll start back with a little Koolbloom. Thanks for the info and crossing your fingers! I'm definitely praying that I'm doing the right thing for them...

Nute burned flowering white widows!! Collapsed trichomes????

I have, and it's pretty good. But the trics are still 100% clear; some of the pistil are amber. One of the large colas on top has some brighter green new growth, it doesn't appear to be a seed pod, there's no signs of hermying - just stalled-out plants. They're drinking over a gallon of water...

Nute burned flowering white widows!! Collapsed trichomes????

We had the nutes up to about 1050 ppm. When we started adding the LKB, we dropped the nute strength, so with the koolbloom they were still right around 1050. They have tolerated 400 ppm's for the last four days, so today we increased the nute strength to about 550 ppm's, but no bloom booster...

Nute burned flowering white widows!! Collapsed trichomes????

In addition, during the flush, I was adding CalMag to the plain, ph'd RO water. The reason for the RO water is because I couldn't control the ph of my tap water. Since I have been using RO water on this entire grow, should I have been adding CalMag all along?

Nute burned flowering white widows!! Collapsed trichomes????

Thanks, guys, for the advice! At this point, I have them back on 400 ppm's nute strength, but I was afraid to put the liquid Koolbloom in there again. Bugeye, I'm definitely worried that I flushed them too long, though. The plants don't look too bad, but they haven't grown any in the last two...

    Seriously nute burned white widows!!!

Bugeye, I will post pics later when I can. The roots look fine - no slime, only a little brown stain from the nutes. They're in 5 gal buckets. It may be getting a little on the cool side in the rez with temps around 68F; is that too cold for the roots? I can turn down the ac if I need to...
