once the roots hit the reservoir you shouldn't have to hand water at all. Thats the whole point of hydroponics, not to have to hand water.

Update. I have now moved one of the ladies under the hps and going to veg and train under the screen for probably another three weeks. She is about 6 inches tall getting very beefy. seems everyone does it their own way. No nutes seems to work for a week or two. I'm just afraid I'll forget to add any and its buy buy. No problems adding mild nutes for me but you gotta do what works for you.
