How a Police IR helicopter functions?

the insulation in your house  If youre really worried you could always try a tin-foil hat too  Now you wont be able to hide the bunker in the backyard, that thing will show up, even if you line it with foil, it will appear as a radar dead spot and the software can model it based...

    Light; marijuana; and lumens

dude...lux meter, measuring lumens per square meter...if you cant extrapolate, I dont know what else to say. Anyway, its ok if you have a different opinion, Im just making sure people get the scientifically accepted opinions as well :-P

    Light; marijuana; and lumens

dude...so...wrong... Lux = Lumens per sq meter. Footcandle = Lumens per square foot. Grab one light, get a light meter, read result. Add second light, read new result. Better yet, read this thread https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/83128-lumens-lux-adding-all-up.html

How a Police IR helicopter functions?

About those See Through Wall radars, heres some more evidence that they dont like metal, from http://pubs.drdc.gc.ca/PDFS/unc36/p518404.pdf "Solid metallic walls are completely opaque to the radar frequencies of interest. The radar signals are completely blocked by a thin aluminum foil such as...

    Light; marijuana; and lumens

Yes you can add lumens!!! Lumens are a measure of photons, put two lights next to each other, and they both spit out photons onto the same area, resulting in added brightness/lux/luminosity.

    Light; marijuana; and lumens

If u want a simple way to see the spectrum your light source is putting out, I came across this the other day http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~zhuxj/astro/html/spectrometer.html Dont point it directly at intense light sources, use reflected light off a white surface instead. Unless u like toasted retinas!

    DIY portable ultrasonic fogger

hehe this was about 10 years ago :eyesmoke: I never used it for weed so I have no idea how much piping/rootmass it would be good for, but it did put more than enough for my shrooms in a medium sized fishtank. I used a cheap 20 cent in-line valve they sell for the aquarium pumps to control the...

    Light; marijuana; and lumens

Im not saying one thing is cheaper than the other, Im sayings its irrelevant, and explaining why Lumens are used, in response to "They use lumens to measure light because it is a simple and cheap test and you can compare all lights with this"

    Light; marijuana; and lumens

Lumens are perfectly fine for comparing plant growth lights of the same spectral output. They use Lumens to measure light because for most purposes, lighting is something that is used to help us humans see things, not becasue it is simple & cheap ;)

Youre right, however, the discussion/arguing actually lets people know what they need to verify ;)

How a Police IR helicopter functions?

Doing some reading now, see a couple of things, one is UWB 'see through walls' Radar, the other is a 'see through walls' Motion Tracker. Niether is a Thermal Imager as far as I can tell, so they wouldnt have any obvious 'glows' to randomly pick you up on. A motion tracker only tracks movement...

In medical applications right? Where you dont need a great deal of penetration? It makes it safer to use waves with less energy.

Remote mounting ballast from lo-bay.. need assistance +rep! PICS

OMG learn to use Macro on your camera :-P That goes for 99% of other camera users too heh. ANyway, pic is crap, cant see, but I bet the silver wire is nothing more than copper wire which has been 'tinned' on the eposed metal with solder, to help keep it together and lower the rate of fray. And...

    Pond Fogger and Aeroponics

I read that the very fine water particles produced by ultrasonic misters promote excessive root hair growth, which stifles the growth of the tap roots. The root hairs are what suck up most of the nutes/water. but if you dont have enough tap root you dont have enough area for the hair to grow...

Lumens, Lux, and Adding It all Up

Ok, first up, ignore the 'equivalent' ratings. As you already know, that is for equating to incandescents. It is for determining which lamps to choose for your home lighting when upgrading to CFLs. No one grows under incandescents, so its a moot rating. What you are better off doing is equating...

    Need some lighting help/advice

There are CFLs that you can plug into normal light sockets. They are designed to replace incandescent lamps, and are commonly available in both bayonet and screw type fittings. These are called 'self ballasted' CFLs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Energiesparlampe_01_retouched.jpg Tubes on...

HPS digital ballast vs magnetic ballast

Sorry, by saying its low end, I meant to infer that a lot of new growers might see it as a good choice. Its bright and cheap. However, there are other solutions in the price range which would be better. I never meant to imply that cheap=bad. As far as it being a faulty unit, there is a comment...
