I am about to begin the flowing stage and I have read, I think, that you should put your plants in 24 hours of barkness before switching to 12/12. I am at 18/6 now (for veg). Do I turn the lights off for 24 hours first, then switch to 12/12? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Can you use distilledwater to calibrate your ph and ppm meter? I understand distilled water typically has a ph of 7 and a ppm around 0-10. Can you use that to tune your meter instead of buying calibration solution? Thanks for your responses!!!

I germinated a few seeds in a moist paper towel. It has been 3 days and the seeds slightly opened and I see the white of the tap root but it is not coming out. The tap root also looks sticky and mushy. Am I doing something wrong? Are the seeds old? Should I try and plant them? Thanks!

I found a seed and germinated it. I just looked at it and t has cracked but the tap toor is barely coming out of the crack in the seed. I noticed the white part coming out is real slimy/mushy. Is there a reason why (ie. bad seed, old seed, too humid)? Should I plant it now or wait...
