Well, the reason Kennedy was assassinated was because he wanted to stop the war. Now for the gettin us out bullshit, it took him 6 fucking years and a hundred thousand+++ people dancing on the white house lawn to move his retarded ass, 4 of those years was my brothers years. Please don't champion Nixon to me. I was alive and witnessed every excruciating minute of his diabolical presidency, It's been said that he opened up China, well how's that going???

kennedy did not put us in vietnam...the first soldiers were killed in 1956 while Ike was president.... The first American soldier killed in the Vietnam War was Air Force T-Sgt. Richard B. Fitzgibbon Jr. He is listed by the U.S. Department of Defense as having a casualty date of June 8, 1956.

Actually, it was the CIA pissed off at him because he put the CIA under Army control, so they could no longer be self-ruled.

Sorry MM but this doesn't sound like the actions of a man who wants to end a war...
John Kennedy and the Cold War
Quote:
It was for these reasons alone, that holding the line in Vietnam was essential. It was JFK who increased America's troop number from 500 to 16,000 and he repeatedly insisted that while Vietnam might have been "in the final analysis, their war," American troops were nontheless not there "to see a war lost" and that he totally disagreed with those who were suggesting the idea of a pullout. "I think that would be a mistake," he said to Walter Cronkite in 1963.
OpenDNS
Quote:
The President accepted the Taylor recommendations, and the number of U.S. personnel grew steadily during 1962. U.S. advisors in the field rose from 746 in January to over 3,400 by June; at the end of the year, the entire U.S. commitment was 11,000, including 29 U.S. Army Special Forces detachments.

HistoryNet - From the World’s Largest History Magazine Publisher » General Maxwell Taylor’s Mission to Vietnam
Quote:
The initial military commitment called for the introduction into South Vietnam of armored personnel carriers and up to 300 aircraft, including helicopters. From a modest force of 3,205 U.S. military personnel in Vietnam at the end of 1961, the number of troops and advisers swelled to more than 9,000 by the end of 1962. By the time of Diem’s–and Kennedy’s–assassinations in 1963, more than 16,000 U.S. personnel, many of them going on combat missions alongside the ARVN, would be in-country.
Now I will grant this, but has actions, not his promise, speaks volumes...
Quote:
Kennedy still did not know was policy to pursue in Vietnam. He had already begun to speak to his advisers about pulling out. He had announced that he was pulling out 1,000 men from Vietnam at the end of the year. Kennedy, however, left no doubt that he will see the war through until he won reelection in 1964. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963. The only thing certain about Kennedy's role in Vietnam before he died was that he had escalated America's military, political, and maybe psychological commitment to Vietnam.
Pulling out only 1,000 out of 16,000. Not exactly a withdrawal IMO.
...and Johnson just made the situation worse.

Geeze Dave, do you have a job or do you spend all day on Wiki trying to defeat my posts. Even though I find this site somewhat interesting, I have better things to do than correct all the misinformation being displayed here.
Personally, I could care less about what happened 55 years ago, well except the part about who really killed JFK, I'd like to know that. Yeah I know, you're going to tell me it was Oswald and to get over it. Well I really don't buy that scenario and I have no proof, just a gut feeling, well that, and the Zapruder film that shows the back of his head flying in the opposite direction of where the supposed shot came from while his head is being violently snapped to the rear. My theory, a guy dressed like a cop in a "cop" car on the bridge with a sniper rifle, it's only a theory.

Just look at the entrance and exit wounds small hole in the back of the head while his forehead region was totally blown out many that was the exit wound, the shots was taken from behind. Wittnesses heard the shots coming from the book depository, oswalds prints were on the gun, bullets matched the caliber gun

You know that Oswald was no expert marksman, and still today, the best sharpshooters in the world are still unable to replicate that shot. They found bullet damage on different parts of the concrete around the limo. There were probably 5-6 people aiming at Kennedy.
