Good soil

FFOF soil or PROMIX are good soil mediums. FFOF is not too hot for seedlings ( by itself with no nutes added ) , seedlings have enough basic nutrients within soil for up to Week 4. Then I start a 1/4 or 1/2 strength feed. All you need is PH water. You can premoisten the soil a day or two ahead of placing germinated seed ( 1/4 inch deep / taproot down ).

The only MOD I do to this soil is to add about 20% more perlite. Once I planted seeds I cover with clear wrap to make a more humid environment for the seedlings.

Looks like he's using a 40 watt 6500k cfl. Damn that plant has stretched like no tomorrow. Its gonna need a low as fuck HPS bulb or a shit load of cobs/cfl's to get a return

looks like your flowering with 6500k bulbs? you should be using 2700k.. im surprised no one has mentioned this.. plus its stretched.. light should have been closer when it was a seedling.. those cfl can basically be on top the plant without it burning.. make sure a fan blows over the top of the plant to strengthen it up.. i notice you got a stick holding it up.. not bad for a first grow (if its your first) and you learn from your mistakes.. any questions pm me..

Yeah I got the plants for free one was already 2 feet and naked as fuck and the other one I got already 5 foot cause it had Gnates and was stretched and I never got any better lights other than the 26 watt cfls and yeah first grow ever

buds arent going to produce very much due to such poor lighting, but for a first grow anything is better then nothing..

its never too late to change lights. its better now then never.. i would try to get at least a 400w hps in there due to the size of those things.. what is your setup other then the lights? do you got a carbon filter etc??

Man I don't have shit in there lol my first grow. My homie knocked on my door handed me a plant said good luck. I went to Walmart got some regular house bulbs some m.g. put it in my closet and started reading as much as I could on growing for dummies and all I ended up with is the CFLs and a box fan

No stress about it bro. If you've got time, head down to a hardware store like home depot. Pick up some non-synthetic soil and look for some 2700k cfl's. If im not mistaken they have mogul based high pressure sodium bulbs with built in ballast. They are only like 120watts, this single bulb alone would give better results than those cfl's, the simple get it over with option would be a 400/600w hps kit from amazon. I would stick the hps up top and mount the cfl's on the side of the walls. Once your plant starts making bigger flowers then that, you will have smelly problems especially without a negitive pressure room. Dont be fooled also, just because you cant smell it on your living room couch, does not mean the neigbors cant smell it. If you smoke daily like me then its hard to notice the lingering smell. But its there

Yeah I've been looking at some lights but I've got a year left up here in Alaska then I'm headed down to az so I'm trying not to spend to much when all I'm gonna do is leave the shit up here ya know and as for the smell these plants don't smell and plus its legal up here so that's not a problem. And no I don't smoke my wife does I just want my super silver haze to be as nasty as I can get her without breaking my pockets. But yeah I'm looking at some kind of better lights for my budget and that will give me a plant to brag about not a stretched out branch lol. Ah i see. Next time, buy an hps! Its cheaper then cfl's and you get almost double the gpw with atleast a 600

Wow I can't believe you got so much shit for asking a simple question...FFOF is fine ok so stick with it. Too hot? That's bunk man, totally bogus. You Can go overboard on synthetic nutrients and burn your plants easy but never with plain FFOF soil, won't happen whether it's a seed or clone. Btw I love your sativa..that's the way a lanky tall un-hybridized sativa should look. No indica in those genes. Hope you have a clone to continue the line.
