How do I STOP plants from growing taller???

Need to stop them. only veged them and they are HUGE. Like 3.5 feet tall. Tent can't go much higher. maybe a foot more?

Won't even start flowering for another week. they can't grow more than a foot during flowering...

You're likely going to have to do makeshift LST or something unless you have some plants that don't grow much during flowering. I know my Jack the Rippers can get 2 - 3 times taller in flower.

You can "lst" as phyzix said or you can top her by taking a few nods off the top no stress no mess. and you can clone the top bingo bango no planto

agreed. really you should have done more research before vegging your plant to that size. i vegged mine for 3-4 weeks before switching to 12 12 my girl was 2.5 ft tall and now after 6 weeks flowering she is around 3.5-4 ft tall.

you may want to try LST personally i would TOP it then change to 12 12 and hope you dont outgrow your tent

and trust me taking a foot off is ok too cause they do grow in veg one of min grew 3 inches an other 3 feet same strain go figure bitches growing wildbut like jondamon said let her veg again to redues stress

what's a makeshift LST? is that kind of like a SCROG set up?

Can I chop the tops off and make clones from that???

lst is just tieing down the top at an agngel down like scrog with out the screen i guess lsting my plants gives you somany new top colas it rocks and yes the top make a great clone

You can remove 40% to 50% of the growth without shocking it. When it does it's stretch, even a little bit, it probably will encroach on top and the light.

I say makeshift LST because you're supposed to start LST when the plant is young (before the stem hardens). If you don't know what LST is, you should google it or look around these forums. Keep in mind I'm working on my first grow so I am far from an expert, but I have read a large portion of this forum.

40 to 50 % thats good to know i always heard 20 to 30% but i chop the shit out of my bitches for clones so i guess that about right thanks

I thought I could only cut the side growth for the clones? So I can cut the MAIN stem and it won't die???

If you cut the main stem down 40-50 % and then give one more week to veg it will grow 2 or three main tops instead of the one and you can clone off the top.

I think the obvious solution is to tie em down?

Clone it. Get some clonex on the cut end and stick it in some happy frog.

The alternative to all the topping/lst'ing is to get some Superbud/Bushmaster. I used it before and it worked great. Upwards growth stops immediately and they grow wide with fat fat buds...careful at late flower or they will mold.

this is crazy. i can't believe plants do this kind of thing. i like this idea. so, this top piece I cut off can be dipped in cloning solution and become a Mother?

also, do I need to put anything on where I cut the top? any specific place is the best (like below or above a branch or what)?

Any clone could be a mother yes just treat it like any other clone. And you do not need to put anything on the mother it will turn brown and be fine good luck, and if you never cloned before look up the best way. for your space and you plant type.I always use a dome some people dont but my plants do better with more Humidity
