Hermi's

I've got two feminised red diesel plants growing along side one of my bubblicious seeds. The bubblicious is growing the fastest and it was topped twice, and two of the tops have pistils coming up and two have pollen sacks on it. My question is if my hermi will pollinate the two diesels also??

I was going to say ... you may want to clone your bubblicious and isolate your hermie with it :weed:. But if you're not interested in breeding and only cultivating buds, then I would use tweezers to rid yourself of male pollen sacks or you may have pollination occuring mate. Keep us informed :blsmoke:

Will do, thanks for the advice. I don't really want to clone the bubblicious but i do kinda want to pollinate it so i can get some more seeds just not the whole batch... even though a bubblicous/red diesel mix sounds pretty good. Is there a way (another noob question) for me to pick off all the pollen sacks and throw them in a plastic baggie and maybe tie the bag around one of the nodes? so only one branch is pollinated??

Hell, just let it happen if you don't mind a few seeds anyway - happened to me & the smoke rocks & we get a few seeds for the next op. a win / win.

I will do some looking into that for you Spin, I'm unsure. When I take my pollen for breeding, I either wait until the male plants are mature enough and use the paper bag method (message me if you're interested), or I selectively breed by isolating my dedicated mother's clones with male pollinating plants. Good question, happy growing mate, I'll get back to you shortly

that tutorial was really helpful, if that guy is right than i guess i can just get a paint brush and brush on the pollen to specific buds. The only kicker is that i have to sucessfully remove all the pollen sacks which, to me, seems like a ball buster of an operation. I will keep you all posted on my next move, and thank you for all the advice!!

That is a truely great tutorial, FDD is the man. I recommend any and everyone read that post, regardless of whether you're interested in breeding or not, gives real perspective on our role as breeders today :weed:

Okay i have another question for all you folks out there, I have never grown a hermi before, and i was wondering what characterisitics they should have. Like balls to pistils ratio. Cuz the bubbilicous hermi i have has all nuts, but one of the colas has the clear/white pistils coming out two nodes from the top. Is this a male that might have went hermi??? I have been doing LST for the majority of their life could that have anything to do with it??

You've got a male mate. The male plants still give off hairs when they flower but only minor in comparison. A hermie more often than not will have a higher female flower / pollen sack ration, the seed pods become visible as tiny banana-esque pods in the bud. The LST wouldn't have affected your plant as I'm sure you have a pure male. LST, unless done horribly wrong, shouldn't stress the plant to the point of passing hermaphoditic traits. Happy growing

okay so a hermi would have looked like a female for another few weeks until seeing those random pods/nuts in the buds? Well damn.... I was looking forward to getting some more seeds from that biatch. Thanks much for the advice and ill keep you posted on the grow!

Hey everybody, so that one bubblegum ended up being a male and the other two are strong females. My new question is regarding weather one of these girls is a hermi.... Im asking about the hermi thing so much cuz i've never seen one. The plant is budding quickly and it seems around "a lot" of the nodes where buds are forming, there are little balls popping out with two little red thread sized hairs comming out of them. Is this a hermi?? maturing seeds?? Nuts??? any knowledge will go a long way!! Thanks!!

It looks like the beginning of female flowers to me guys, I might be really baked, but I've seen a fair share of preflowers and those look like initial females. Give them a couple days guys, if they don't burst within the first few days with distinct female flowers, they might be male. Just give them a bit to mature and follow the Seed Tutorial that FDD wrote. Happy growing guys

i guess my question is, whether that looks like a seed? I've never seen a polinated plant with seeds so im just wondering if that looks like they were prematurly pollinated and those are seeds???
