Let me see... humans don't produce oils to protect themselves from UV of any sort!
What we as humans do in reaction is get sunburn and that can lead to cancer cells so not such a good analogy to be giving.
How humans have adapted is to alter the melanin levels genetically in response to the...
Exactly my thoughts when I looked and compared the 2 charts side by side.
I've purchased a number of the 1750K vero C's and will run them this time round.
What I see is that it will give me a huge boost in photon's in the 620-680nm range and go right on out to the IR 730nm+ with the added...
Just wondered what happened? Did you manage to get a grow happening with the fogponic method?
Currently on second run now using fogponics and shallow water re circulation approx. 1" depth in tubs from 100L res., incredible root growth and massive plants.
I have made a series of veg lights using the Samsung 4ft A strips, I run them at 700ma on a coralux controller.
Currently running 12 strips over a 8'x2.5' space achieving 250-300 umols and it's absolutely plenty to veg in. I happened upon a brand new 4'x1' fluoro light fixture for free and will...
Hi everyone,
Really enjoying seeing the builds with these strips and other taking off... currently building nice 4ft clone light from discarded flouro housing...
What I was want to know is has anyone found suitable diffusers for the Bridgelux EB series strips?
Thanks in advance.
Well done asking questions is the way to understanding.
I see quite a few builds of lights here by people with little electrical training and sometimes I cringe at what I see and I'm not a qualified electrician either.
mim1 can I suggest when you setup your room that you use a watt meter to...
Sorry they are Australian.
They are extremely heavy 110cm long weighing in at 10KG each.
Also took many hours to precision drill and was a real pain.
Recommend using pin sinks 140mm x 80mm half the cost and predrilled usually for a variety of cobs.
Be sure to put a fan over every pin heat...
Hi PappiOnFire,
Yeah I love the Mars Bars also, you can use the heat sinks from the Mars 900 you have.
They were a labor of love taking many hours. If I had the money I would have used pin sinks, much quicker.
Happy growing
Final data.
Mars Hydro conversion lights worked a treat, heavies worked a treat, Gemini twins worked a treat, cutter side strip worked a treat.
Total wattage from the wall 1900W on a 10/14 (on/off) cycle (63 Days) - cured weight 2000 odd g - consisting of 1000g of prime bud - 1000g consisting...
Hi Mark,
What's happened to the new heat sinks that were coming?
http://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut3020
Thought these were going to be available mid-august 2016 ... it's the 1st sept. tomorrow
Can we get an accurate ETA on these?
Been putting off new builds until these become...
The Mars series 2 usually use drivers rated from 55v-100v with output of 700ma +-5%.
There have been a couple of other variations on the ratings but for the series 2 these are the main ones.
Not sure that the Amp testing is been done/read correctly... as that figure of 40ma would have resulted...
Unfortunately the Mars 2 lights have a design flaw in the lens used over the 450nm or lower led's they have on them.
To much energy is trapped by the lens which become opaque decreasing that spectrum available to the plants and heating up the diode.
Eventually the diode fails due to heat...
