  • Im starting to think the temps rising too quickly may be a problem, and also maintaining them. The hot plate spikes to stay warm and I don't know if that is too large of a factor or not. I've also been trying smaller runs instead of large ones to keep things more even & thin. I'm just frustrated :wall: i've tried everything!

Thanks for writing me back, I appreciate it. I recently started spraying into my dish without water it seems to work pretty well for multiple runs and letting it release on its own over night. Just a slower process in my eyes... I have been vaccing between 90-120 which is a little bit of a hassle to monitor. The last run started to honeycomb around 115 and after thinking the temp was stable I think after a few hours it mustve raised and got too warm and lost its shape. I've been trying to distribute the heat more evenly through the chamber... I'll take a few pictures of it. Do you think the temps were just raised too quick to make it unstable?
Hmm. I'll definitely try and figure it out with you, I can't personally say I've ever sprayed straight into the dish with no warm water or anything, but i fail to see how that can make a difference. What temp do you keep it at while vaccing? I find 100f-120f to be best, depending on what outcome your looking for.. Would you be able to take a picture after 3 days of vac w/o it turning to shatter or comb? I've never seen that before. I'm thinking possibly you raised the temps too high in the beginning? Ill do my best to help though.
So I've been trial and error-ing oil for more than a year now, probably close to two. I am a caregiver and I truly just want to provide my patients with the best medicine I can. Currently, I did a 60g run that I just can't seem to get right. At this point, I don't think there is any turning back, it is what it is but I was reading some threads and thought Id msg you. My vac is at about -29, while actually extracting I used nothing but my pyrex no warm water bath. It sat overnight to release tane on its own. Been about 3 days in vac now, I've tried lengthy time periods w/ dif. temps yet I still cannot achieve a honeycomb consistency or shatter. I'm not sure if its too thick or if my temps are off. I do have an infrared gun and I've been monitoring that as well. Anything you can think of to help? I am seriously racking my brain over here looking for knowledge on what is going wrong. If you have any sort of tips please message me back... I'd appreciate it.

    Thank you kindly,
    Sarah
