from my experience with 70w hps in a 16x8 inch pc case.. you will be able to grow well over an ounce, probably 3-4 when you get used to the box etc. And you will be able to keep the light much closer than 8 inches away.. my 70w hps is cold to the touch on the side the fan is blowing on it...
