    There is a lot of sun in Souther Cal I guess, I think you should not worry much about getting enough sun, but may be about watering and bugs.

    I wouldn't invest in aero garden just for bean starting, but that's just my opinion. If you think you'll benefit a lot from it, go for it.

    Hmm, tell more about the light you use. What is the temperature inside ? How often do you put water ?
