The actual growing space is 5' x 10' so it's 50 sf. I have 3- 1000w hps which put out approx. 140,000 lumens each, that's a total of 420,000 lumens in 50 sf which comes down to 8400 lumens /sf, it's damn near as bright as the sun in there!

You want a minimum of about 3,000 lumens per sf for proper lighting. The sun puts out about 10,000 lumens per sf, you want to stay somewhere under this limit as too much light can burn a plant. Take what your lamp put out in lumens, then see how much area your light will cover and then...

From what I read it sounds like you'll be running 24- 5 gallon buckets. That will spread out quite a bit. I'm finding 3-1000w over 18 plants is a pretty good saturation, you may be stretching things a little with only 1-1000w.

Okay, I finally put them in the system, the clones that is. I put 6 Banana Kush and 12 Northern Lights in the tubes. All 12 of the NL clones had good roots coming out of the rapid rooters, of the 6 BK only 2 had good roots coming out, the other 4 had root buds starting on the stems so I feel...
