I would use the quickstart, but not the other stuff just yet, wait til they are a little bit older 1st.
Yes u will have to germinate the seeds, here is a good method 4u.

Get urself a decent size pot, grow it in soil, and whack in some slow release fertilizers. Couldnt be much simpler for an outdoor plant that is low maintanence. The reason for the decent size pot is so it will hold more moisture and u can water it less often.
