Power has been off for over 12 hours now, tried it again and still no lights, i know for a fact the bulbs are good. do you think its a blown capacitor?

I have a 1000w switchable ballast hps/ mh , just started using the hps today, fired up great but about 2 hours later i came out and the light was off. the power was still on to the ballast, its humming, a tad warm. the bulb is brand new, i also put in the mh that i know works, and nothing... so...
