+1 on using an ethernet shield. I have a custom watering system using an Arduino MEGA with the shield -- i control it and receive data with simple JSON commands from a different machine. Keeps the arduiono loop nice and tight and simple and other computer does all the heavy lifting.
I'm using one of these to get 2 feet of movement in a long room:

Worth it or waste of time?
I find myself with an excess of CXA3070's that I will let go for a good price. PM me for details. They are AD bin (top bin available right now).
thanks!
AD bin puts out 9000 lumens vs 8500 for AB. So they are about 5-6% more efficient than the CXA3070 AB's. The CXB runs at a slightly lower voltage, so the CXB AB is probably close to the CXA AD and the CXB AD would be a bit more efficient than the CXA I have.
you think a lens would be a better option instead of some sort of reflector? I like the focus idea, but more glass in the light path is a loss too. Might be time for a test :-)
Supra, do you have the spreadsheet that shows a 3070AB vs whatever the top bin 3590 at 3000K would look like? That would be great if you could post that. Building a flower room and need to make a decision soon :-)
seems like 2 CX3590's (one per umbrella) could light a small studio -- about 36K lumens when driven hard. If you could keep the fans silent that might be interesting.
Love your CXA3070 thread -- I finally read all 134 pages. One of the most on-topic and useful threads I've seen on any site.
Have you made any progress on using 3070's for video lights? I think I remember you saying something about that. I'm thinking about high-CRI lights myself for video...
I'm targeting 4 to 5 ft -- around 8 plants with mainlining to 8 colas each. Following this grow journal for my first bubbleponics (been doing soil/coco so far): http://www.growweedeasy.com/600w-dwc-cannabis-grow-journal
room size is 6x8. Currently running 2 1000's. Thinking about going to three 600's for efficiency (and reduced electric footprint). Bubbleponics all the way. Thoughts?
