does anyone have anything constructive to say about the light schedule before harvest? is 24 hours sufficient or should i bump it up to 36?

Hey guys, last grow I shut the lights off for a full 24 hrs before harvest because some people on here said it helped out with size or weight . . . or something like that ha. I was wondering if that was enough time or should I throw it into a 36 hr dark period?
