anybody have any ideas on rigging up a submersible thermostat to switch a pump to circulate cooled water through coils? ive been thinking about it for a while, but i can't even find the type of thermostat i'd need, though i know they exist... i'm upgrading to a recirculating dwc grow and want to...
so i want to upgrade my veg lighting. i was wondering how much wattage i could use without having to air cool it. i'm thinking 250 watt... maybe 400, but ive never ran wither before. im just planning on an open reflector for a housing... no fans, no glass
thanks

So in an attempt to deal with root rot and other parasites/pathogens i added 10 ml of physan 20 to my 10 gal cloner reservoir. It foams up real nasty, and all signs of the competitor mold are gone. only now, my roots are staining redding and they seem weaker. My question is, is physan 20 only...
so if my tap water has a significant tds level (around 110ppm) then to bring my clones up to around 250 ppm when i add nutrients do i want my final ppm to read around 360? or do i not add the initial ppm? thanks

so i have never used a dwc system and i recently set a 40 gal whisper pump to two 8" air stones in a 10 gal res.. ive read about people using just a 10 gal pump like this and getting by fine, but it seems like my system is weak.. or is it not really supposed to be that turbulent? thanks

So all I really need to know right now is how feasible it is to have multiple plants (6) in different stages of flowering all in the same DWC reservoir? I was originally thinking to grow three rezs with two plants in each but then i'd need to buy more probes, and possibly more meters, though im...
So I'm completely new to hydroponics and am at the initial stage where expenses start adding up.. i was wondering if anybody has done this before with good results. Can I use one tds meter to monitor mulitple reservoirs by having multiple probes? I want three dwc rez's with two plants in each...
right, but in order to determine that plants sex it must at least be a week or two into flowering... more even. so do a lot of people just take veg clones and hope they wind up female? do you have any tips for avoiding hermies? thanks

If i wanted to mess aroung in the grow room during the dark cycle, what kind of light should i use? I was thinking a low wattage incandescent bulb maybe tinted green... just whatever has the least PAR right? does anybody else do this? thanks
If i wanted to take some cuttings and my gals are about 4-5 weeks into flowering, they shouldn't have any problems taking root, right? Is there an ideal time? thanks
so for future reference i'd like to hear some opinions on both dwc and on mister nozzle aeroponics. I figure a bubbler would be easier (less power consumption (right..?) and no clogging) but does it provide as wholesome of a mist as the nozzles would? what are the prod and cons here?
