Well, unfortunately I can not grow indoors, or outdoors, so both arguments mean nothing to me. I am going by option c. which is more expensive than BOTH of your options :D I have to purchase all my meds myself....and have to worry about loosing my freedom. So recently, I have had almost to nothing for bud...like now. Just purly out of the fact I can be arrested and sit in prison for 5 years for less than 1 oz :D Welcome to the south

so I guess discussion on the herbalaire is dead . . .

even though it's probably the best vaporizer on the market today.

I'm looking to make some simple improvements to the HerbalAire, including adding a shut off valve and so forth. The main thing I am having a difficult time finding right now is the correct size of teflon tubing that goes from the main teflon piece to the bags. Anyone know where I can find a lot of it for less than the prices charged on herbalaire's website? Thanks

I like the idea of adding a shut-off valve, though I don't know where you could find additional teflon mouthpieces...I think that's what you're looking for...one of these-->

Please post up some info on any/all improvements you make!

shutoff valve? I don't see why I'd need one?
I do...and in the previous pages I also discuss the simple addition of even a cap for the mouthpiece......it would be good for sharing without explaining to everyone to cover up the hole...

I know you've filled up that turkey bag all the way before and seen a stream of vapor escape as you remove it from the vape...well, I sure have anyway. It isn't crucial, but it would be a nice addition.

HfB, a cap sounds like it would do the trick as well.

well I suppose that wouldn't be very hard to do . . . . spring loaded . . . guess it all depends on if herbalaire is willing to manufacture it.

I'd be definitely interested, though it truly isn't crucial to my use of this vape.

also I've found that the best vaping temp for this vape is right in between the 360 degree notch and the 365 notch.

I've found that at 375 it seems to produce a lot of excess vapor that doesn't seem to get you much higher than the configuration between 360 and 365. though if you just really want to see how high you can get I suppose you'd prefer 375 . . . .

I talked to the guy at herbalaire and got some details about the insides of this thing and the longevity.

the main heating element is encased in steel. then there's an inner and outer aluminum core. the outer aluminum core is connected to the steel encasing of the heating element. then the inner core is connected to the outer core of aluminum in a way that NO air touches the outer core, and is ONLY exposed to the inner core and the teflon breather tube and teflon mouthpiece or whatever you call the thing on the top.

so the hot air is only exposed to teflon and aluminum. aluminum wont start to boil until about 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. as we are using this thing around 350-375 degrees I highly doubt anything will ever be emited from this thing in it's wildest dreams. and for those concerned about teflon, teflon doesn't start to boil until 650 degrees F. over twice the operating temperature of this machine.

the dude at herbalaire said he's heard of these things lasting over 6 years and still working . . . . frankly I believe it, I don't really see anything on this thing going out in the next few years.

you call them yet? they seem to be on and off with their emails . . . . but the one time I called it was very successful . . .

and for sure about not using it without the bag . . . . the whip function isn't nearly as nice as /actual/ glass ceramic whip vapes. with my lungs recovering as they are, I can't even finish half a bag . . . . so I may end up using a whip vape while I recover . . .

edit: herbalaire REALLY needs to make an air filter attachment for the air intake part of the pump . . . . for real.

shit, scratch what I said about the whip function . . . if you chop up the herb slightly fine . . . . it works as a badass whip vape, especially through a hot water bong . . . . and I can vape hella tiny amounts since my tolerance is hella low now . .. . so this is probably how I'm gonna be using this till my lungs are totally better again . . . seems like it's gonna be another couple weeks before I can handle vape without hot water.

ohh yeah whip through the bong is the best. been getting so high off of that shit.

I actually find the whip function to be much more effective than the bag.

I've also been using this thing without the crucible since someone stepped on it and it has been working wonderfully; doesn't even really get dirty either.

Hey All - I just wanted to update. I have taken a few polls and it seems a Personal Concentrate Vaporizer Gauntlet Review is what the people want.

So, you know what that means - Coming soon:

I ordered the Herbalaire 2.2 last night for $170 it should be here on Wed. Man I cant wait to try it out. The only vape I have owned before is a cheapo ebay hotbox like 4-5 years ago which worked somewhat but was a piece of junk.

Thought I'd chime in. I've had an Herbalaire for about four years and an Extreme for about two, and a Volcano for about four (among others.) The Herbalaire just plain beats the Volcano. For me it's because I can fire up the Herbalaire in about two minutes and medicate. I don't use bags with it--I like the teflon.

The only thing is the crucible heats up and cooks the herb if you leave it in, so I pull it out (I use the scissors from a sewing kit, in a pulling instead of squeezing action to lift out the hot crucible. That's literally my only complaint though. I slightly prefer the flavor from the Extreme, but it's not nearly as fast, easy or efficient. I feel it doesn't work well at all unless it warms up for at least 30 minutes.

I've got several other vaporizers, but I don't use any of them. :-)

If I had to add up all the pros and cons, the Herbalaire is the best. If I bought one for someone else, it's the one I'd buy. The only thing I'd do to improve it is design a ceramic crucible, which wouldn't super-heat like the aluminum.

Oh, and...I'm thinking of adding a pen to my collection, because I might USE it now that Colorado's a somewhat free state. Thing is I provide my own medicine and figure I'll have to make earwax, and don't know anything about any of that.

still have my herbalaire, it still works great. I'm not much into vaping though (besides ice wax on the nail ;) )

but the herbalaire is sturdy and dependable, does what oyu want it to and will not break on you, very reliable. after owning it over 2 years that's the best I can say about it. no real cons IMO that other vapes don't have as well.
