315w cfl or 150 hps?

i have a 2x2x5 growbox with 80cfm intake and 80cfm carbon scrubber exhaust. i'm planning my light setup. should i set up a 315w cfl(105wx3) grow light or a 150w HPS setup (remote ballast)? which one would give off more heat? They both put out about 15k lumens. i know the bigger wattage cfls do give off heat.
if they put out the same amount of heat, then i'd go for the HPS and save some $$$.
FYI,, I'll probably have about 2ft .of space( height) to grow (scrog style). ( grow height--after scrubber, lamp, grow buckets taken into consideration)

i like HPS, its just way simpler and it does wonders to the plants health and everything. i would go with the 150 watt HPS, u could even do a 250 watt HPS, dont worry about the heat. i thought there was gonna be a ton of heat for the 250 watt but there was very little and i could control it easily.

The hps will put out more heat then the CFL. Just be ready to increase your airflow if needed. There are many inexpensive fans available if you look around.

I run two 150 hps in a 3h x 3w x 1d and it is close to having heat issues, but i run co2 so it's all good. That's only 9 cubic feet, you've got twenty. I'd probably try a 250 hps in there. or a 150 hps with supplemental side lights. That way you could mess with the color spectrum if you wanted.

good luck :peace:

Yeah go for the hps. I am growing in a 3x3x4ft high with a 600w hps, yes heat is an issue but you just adapt your ventilation to match the light you are using. I was using cfls until a couple of weeks ago and cant believe the difference.
